Ok this will be our arrival day and we will not get to the park until about 4:00. There will be an EMH at Epcot that evening. Which should we use fastpass for before EMH starts ? I hate it that there is a tier on these rides :headache:

There both normally a long wait. But I've seen that sometimes there's a break in the time for test track. Soarin seems to always have a 45min+ wait. Both rides are indoor standby areas. And I think the standby area in test track is a lot more fun and enjoyable than Soarin. I think Soarin has one of the most boring lines to wait in.

So I'd definitely FP Soarin and just deal with the line in Test Track. Which is exactly what I did with our FP set up for the end of this month.

We have the same situation coming up- and I reserved TT only because it is my son’s favorite ride. He will want to ride it multiple times. Soarin’ is usually a “once and done” for us. I am hoping that during EMH- maybe while Illuminations is on- we will have a shot at standby. We are willing to live without it, though, if the wait is too long. I reserved it for our departure day to be sure we could ride it once during our trip, just in case. It really stinks that these 2 rides are tiered!

We chose Soarin over TT. We can always go in the single rider line. I agree the queue for TT is much better than for Soarin so your son would have something to occupy his time.

Some really good points here. I thought about using FP for TT not taking into account that the line set up is a bit different.

Do you get through TT's interactive stations if you use the single rider line as well?

Soarin's stand-by ine is absolutely brutal. It's on a ramp and there is nothing interactive at all. Definitely FP Soarin' over Test Track.

They have the interactive games on the walls. But those require you to flail your arms all over and are just lame. I don't think they really thought it through about making a game requiring people to fling their arms all over in the air when you're standing in a huge long line.

I would personally only wait in that boring line if I was with someone who had never rode it before. Other than that, TT all the way. Although I miss the old TT que and thought it was more fun and interesting vs the futuristic upgrade. But both ways are better than Soarin :p

I would go with Soarin. Test Track loads much faster which make the line go quicker too. And like previous posters have said, you can do single rider on Test Track

Definitely agree with Soarin in this scenario. I recently did single rider at test track and was through in about 5 min mid day with a stand by list time of 40 min.

For those that do rope drop I recommend test track as the fast pass especially in the summer months because of the frequent down times. With a fast pass in hand you can get a return at any part of the day one if the ride is shut down. If you don't have a pass your out of luck. With this strategy I just go to Soarin first thing.

Another vote for Soarin. The single rider line at TT works especially well because the car seats as set up 3 by 3. Typically families have an even number of people and I've seen multiple instances where 2 single riders ride in one car.

What are the chances of getting to ride together if we do single rider line ?

Late in the day, the odds of you riding next to each other is almost zero. The best you could hope for is one of in the front seat and one in the back seat. If staying together is important, than you'll need to wait in the regular line or get a FP. Going a bit against the grain. I'd recommend FP+ TT and riding Soarin' during EMH. From my looking at Touring Plans, the line for Soarin' seems to be a fairly consistant 15 minute wait during the later portions of Evening EMH once the last of the FP riders get through the line speeds up greatly.

Depends on the families in the loading area. I agree many families are 4, so do 2x2 and you would get in the same car. But last year, my DH and DS were in 2 different cars with several in between. (I was in the waiting area so when DS came off one of us would be there to meet him.)

Easywdw has similar drops in waits around 8:30-8:45 daily (including non-EMH days) for Soarin' as well.

If you have Memory Maker/Photopass, you might want to be together as well for the ride photo.

Yes. When we used single rider the line did not stretch all the way back to where the single rider interactive stations are located. If we had stopped to use the stations other folks would have probably skipped past us. We weren't that interested in building our own car so we kept on moving until we met up with the end of the line.
