Fastpass + seems to be ruining many posters trips to WDW.

I didn't snap at anyone. But you bet, you are all going to have to get over it or quit going. You think Disney is going to cancel this because a vocal minority here wants to take their ball and go home? Please.

And no, this ceased to be a intelligent conversation MONTHS ago, not when I said get over it. Keep on piling on. I have never seen such bitterness about a vacation destination! I really cannot believe how mean spirited the commentary is. I don't see many here who actually want to have a conversation. Most just want their negative feelings validated.

And no, you are not the majority. Go visit other boards. Much less negativity about this. I didn't hear anyone complaining when we were there either. In fact, I kept hearing about how cool the system is, etc. etc. I know that isn't what you want to hear but it's the truth.
There's plenty of negative commentary over at wdwmagic and easywdw just to name a few. People everywhere are worried but of course they will all feel better if someone just comes along and jumps on them for their comments. That always helps. :rolleyes2

Personally, I'm on the fence. I fully expect this to be a good system someday once everything is done. However, I have the misfortune of already having a trip booked and paid off for this December and we're staying offsite like we do sometimes. I will continue to ask questions and get advice and if others don't like it, they can just get over that. :thumbsup2

Oh no, it stopped being intelligent a looooong time ago. All that comrade/communist talk was really clever as well. Give me a break.

And I thought that was funny and not serious....

I have read lots of good reports and I am happy for those people, I wouldnt want people spending all that money and having a lousy vacation, I feel sorry for the people with the hiccups, I feel sorry for the Pop guest who had the rules change on them at the last minute, I feel sorry for the offsite guests who are finding FP- running out early. Many, not all have said that they got in before the tiering and they were glad for that. Many reported that it worked because it is a low crowd time.

I have a trip coming up soon and I hope and pray it goes smoothly for us, we got in before tiering and I hope they dont roll it out to our resorts before we leave.

I think most of us are DISCUSSING here is how WDW is changing the rules almost daily, no tiering one day, tiering the next, screwing over the Pop people. Leaving AP and offsite people in the dark as to when they are being added. And we are DISCUSSING what might happen when they roll this out to all guests and how this will impact how we are used to touring. Many of us our concerned that a place we love (and for us invested in) is changing how WE have enjoyed our vacation there in the past. We are very happy with how we toured and we dont want to go backwards and have it be less efficient, and go back to standing in lines

I dont want to get over it, I want to discuss it, figure out how to tour within the current and changing confines of the FP+ system. I want to post my concerns here (and in an email) so WDW is aware of my concerns. I only need to get over it when the system is fully implemented and then and only then can I decide if this is still the vacation destination for my family.

Whoa, whoa--wait a minute:[/QUOTE]
Your quote feature acted weird like mine too. I had to in and fix it.

By the way, good catch.

So if I am not a fan of FP+ and its promised glorious "fairness", etc., does that make me a DISsident?

Look, Super Tourer and Joe Average ALWAYS had an equal shot at FP with the old system. If Super Tourer got off his duff early in the morning and used his initiative to gather lots of FP while Joe Average sauntered into the park at noon and couldn't pull nearly as many, that was all on Average Joe. This system takes away any incentive to show initiative and effort. Da, it is so.

 You snapped at someone else to get over it when you didn't like their opinion and you're the one getting flamed

Actually, the vast majority of people I talk to, on a couple boards, several facebook groups, and in real life, think FP+ is a terrible idea and will negatively impact their vacation.

And there have been plenty of people who have used the system and also complained about it, on top of that, some people who were involved in the testing, and had a good experience, are actually capable of looking beyond the testing, and seeing what the system will be like when its fully rolled out, which is bad btw.

And for the record, its pretty clear they are already having second thoughts about the rollout and the functionality of FP+. The added testing, the delayed rollout, the considerable negative feedback, the reported unhappiness of people like Iger, the reports from CMs that they are getting a LOT of negative feedback. So, you might just have to ... ummm .... "Get over it" ??? The people who have some issues with FP+ seem to have a much stronger case, and it appears their voices are actually being heard.

Well, I'd say that if Mr. Iger tested the MB/FP+ in the parks and it didn't work for him, then Disney has a problem. Regardless of how well it worked for you.

So.. This was our 6th year in a row to visit and have always stayed on site in previous years however this year we rented a home with a private pool BEFORE I saw any discussion of fast +. We did stay at The Grand Floridian our very last night so we got to try out the magic band.

We were there from Nov 14th to Nov 21st and it seemed as though the "offsiter" had a definite disadvantage for fast passes and long lines for the popular rides. By around 11am to noon Soarin', Toy Story and the headliners were already tapped out of fast passes or went late into the evening so you had no other choice but to stand in line. We tend to go at slower times to avoid longer lines. The crowd calendar said 2-3 for our week so I would imagine the lines could be worse, probably this week.

We waited 1.5 hours to ride Toy Story with no chance for fast pass and didn't want to wait the 1.5 hour for Soarin' at 1pm in the afternoon with all fast passes taken or reserved so we skipped that ride this year. I did check the wait times apps the rest of the week and it seemed that Soarin' was always busy! The disappearance of reserved fast passes made park hopping questionable and I wish I hadn't have gotten them. And yes, four day with park hoppers or two adults paying $700.00 is pricy. As someone mentioned before, why would anyone want to go backwards and stand in longer lines or not be able to ride consecutive rides if that is how their family enjoys the parks? Fast passes being completely out or reserved way out into the day made the lines longer. Staying offsite, there is nothing you can do about it at the moment. Obviously, Disney makes more money if we stay at their hotels and eat their food. Nothing against Disney, just a fact. We go because we love the rides and will be back for Avatar and the Seven Dwarves roller coaster.

At The Grand Floridian the magic band itself seemed to work fine although I could see where people might spend beyond their means with the swipe of their band for everything with a $1500.00 allowance before your credit card on file is charged at check out. If you hit that mark they will charge before you checkout. I'm not sure if the card worked the same previously, we try to use cash so we know exactly what we spend.

On a side note, we went to Universal one day, saw Thor at their IMAX theater, Outlet Mall, Daytona Beach on the Atlantic Coast and Anna Maria Island on the Gulf Coast. Daytona Beach and Epcot in the same day!

Bottom line, I'm watching for the improvements to be implemented in this new FP+ system.

Just adding a little info to these posts: Two, IT Vice Presidents were fired from Disney this past week. I'm sure it's connected to all these changes.

All this new stuff affects us all in different ways. I am 60 years old and rarely do any of the headliner rides. I usually tour with other folks my age and don't usually go with kids anymore. I go during the slower seasons. My days at Disney involve wandering around to attractions that don't have wait times. I have a BIG concern that Disney's effort to spread the guests around to all attractions will have a negative impact on my favorite way to tour. I can just imagine the lines at POC or HM now that these are FP rides. It is really amazing that the impact of FP+ can be so far reaching and affect us all in such different ways.

They too will GET OVER IT.

Imagine all the free time they will have now to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy a Dole Whip, and wait in loooooong lines with thousands of their nearest and dearest. Not to mention the people watching!!! We may finally get the answer to which is worse........ Strollers As Battering Rams or First Time ECV Users Running Amok in the Parks.

In all seriousness on that last one, we went to WDW in 2004 with my MIL, who had not been since the year Epcot opened up. We tried to tell her beforehand that she was NOT up to walking for a week because WDW was much bigger than the early 80s and she was much older. She wouldn't listen.

We arrived and she couldn't make it from the MK parking lot to the TTC. It was either have my poor DH push her all week......and she had 50 pounds on him......or put her on an ECV for the first time. Considering her new car looked like it had been in a demolition derby because she would hit anything within 20 feet of her, we knew she would be a hazard on that ECV and likely hit more than one person. No joke. For the greater good of humanity, DH made the sacrifice and pushed her in a wheelchair all week. Had she just admitted she could never walk WDW, we'd have had her practice in an ECV beforehand so she would not have been such a hazard.

Our trip is not until late May, early June. I'm hoping they will have FP+ fully rolled out and under control by then. Personally, I'm looking forward to being able to schedule 3 rides ahead of time! We are uber-planners, so we will get to the parks early, ride the headliners in the standby line, then use our FP+ later in the day. :thumbsup2

I don't have to be standing in line to be forced to chat with my family. We talk all the time--every day, no matter where we are. And frankly standing in a line is not our favorite place to talk.

Like my grandfather said at his 60th anniversary dinner when asked if he wanted to sit next to my grandmother.... "I've been sleeping next to her for 60 years, why would I want to sit next to her at dinner??"

:rotfl2:

Sorry, but that's such a good joke I just had to bump it up....

Not too mention this thread looks like it started (and finished) the entire time I was at WDW - good thing I didn't read it or it would have really tainted my opinion, huh??? :)
