FastPass+ reservation Questions - I'm new to this!

This is our first trip with MDE and FP+, so I am trying to figure it all out. I just bought our tickets through Disney since our 60 day window opens up soon- our trip starts on January 22.

1 - When I looked at how the FP+reservation pages are set up to familiarize myself with them, I could only book for 30 days out. Is this normal? When booking dining, you can see 180 days out from today, so I was expecting to see 60 days out from today. Is something wrong with my MDE setup? I see our tickets linked.

2 - Where do you customize the bands? I think you can pick colors?

Thanks so much! This is a bit overwhelming for someone who really had WDW planning down to a T - so much has changed with MDE!

1 - Yes it's normal.

2 - Yes you can pick colors and customize bands. There should be an option on the website or app under "Magic Bands and Cards".

Are you staying at a Disney resort? If you are, you can book FP+ 60 days out. If you are not, you can book 30 days out. I can't help you with the second q.

To piggyback - you can often see the next 30 days out with valid tickets linked, but as soon as your 60 day window opens (usually midnight) then you'll suddenly see the whole field of dates.

Yes, we are staying at a Disney resort. I booked that (per my usual) early in order to get the 180+ days to book our dining.

I'm a planner, but this is all very nervewracking. My girls are so eager to meet A&E, and at DLR, all we had to do was have DH arrive early to the gates, then hurry to get into line. With this one, I have to depend on my computer working right, the software working right, getting on at the right time, and there being an opening when we are only staying for 4 days!

Yes, everything was there. It finally showed up, but 7 minutes after 9:00, so I think that impacted some of my choices. I couldn't get a A&E M&G for the day I wanted for both kids, only one. I made it for our last day there, but at a late time, so that means no other FPs that entire day as a result. And, we have the grandparents with us that day, who aren't staying on site. My DH and I will give them our magic bands so they can go with the girls, but I'm thoroughly upset that we are going to miss it.

The booking process was also incredibly stressful, especially for someone who doesn't like planning out the entire day like this.
