My daughter, husband, and I are going to DL for the first time ever in May. My husband likes to ride the rides... daughter is too little and I don't enjoy rides very much. Is it possible to gather Fastpasses with our all hopper tickets and have only him ride the rides? Or is that frowned upon?

Thanks! :wave2:

You can absolutely do that. The fastpass doesn't have your name or anything on it, and the CMs don't even look at them other than to check the return time. Hubby is lucky, he will get to go on a lot of rides with minimal wait!

Another way to maximize your husband's ride time would be to get child switch passes. These are available at all rides that have height restrictions. If your daughter is too small to ride, the cast member at the entrance will give you a switch pass. This will allow 1 person to ride while the other is tending to the child. After the first ride, the pass allows you to enter through the exit and ride again. The intent is to allow each parent a chance to ride, but like the fastpass, there is no name or anything so anyone in the party can use it.

We did just this at WDW. I used my younger DD and my mom's AP to get FP for Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster, then my older daughter and I rode. It was great.

This enabled DD to ride RNRC 8 times in one day at WDW last year. DS didn't want to try it... so we kept getting FPs with all four of our tickets and then DH and I took turns riding RNRC with DD.... it was one of the highlights of the trip for her!! ........P

I can't help but wonder what too small means? Even for a 2 year old, the only things truly off limits are the Mountains, Indy, Toontown coaster and Bounce House. Even a babe in arms could experience many if not most of the attractions. In fact, sometimes really young children aren't phased too much even by something scary like Snow White because they don't yet know about witches and the like.

Cheers.

"too small" when it comes to child swap means just that they are too small to ride that ride. As far as I understand they only have the child swap on rides that do indeed have a minimum hieght requirement.

Can you do a child swap with a child that doesn't want to ride the ride even though they are ok with their height?

I have a tall 4 year old that is NOT going to go on Indy but will meet the height requirement...can dh and I do the swap? It's just us 3 going!!

They might give one. I once saw a girl with her family decide she didn't want to ride CA Screamin partway through the line. They got up to where the CM combines the FP line with the standby line and he gave the person who got out of line with her a child swap pass. The other option would be for all of you to go through the line and then tell the CMs who do the loading that she doesn't want to ride. They have one of you go while the other waits with her. Then when one gets back, they'll send her across to the unloading side and the second parent rides.
