It's funny that no matter how many times I go there are so many things I can't remember. I know that you can't get a fastpass before another one has expired, but can you get one for the same ride unlimited times or just once the same day?

You can get however many you want for the same ride as long as they last. You have to wait until they expire until the next one, but you can get another at the same ride. We have done this with SM and SplashM. :earsgirl:

Check the bottom of the fastpass for the time you can get another one. If the return time is more than 2 hours, you can usually get another one in 2 hours. Sometimes if it's not crowded they allow you another one in 5 minutes, that happened to me at Jungle Cruise last year.

Last time I checked (Nov. 03), when you can get another Fastpass varies with which ride tne next Fastpass is for and it takes some guesswork.

The next fetch time stamped on your previous Fastpass is the worst case time and I found it was never more than two hours and 5 minutes away (if the usage time was further off).

At one time I suggested giving your next Fastpass a try just one hour later if the ride is not one of the most popular with a very long line. (If you try to get another Fastpass for the same ride you won't beat the next fetch time on the previous Fastpass.)

Here is something you can try (a guess, not a guarantee). Add the standby wait time of the next ride to the fetch time of your previous Fastpass and use that as the fetch time for the next Fastpass. For example you got a Fastpass for Space Mountain at 10 AM, the return time is 3 PM and the next fetch time is 12:05. You are at Haunted Mansion and the standby wait is 25 minutes. At 12:30 try for your next Fastpass there if that is what you want to ride soon.

Note: Except if there is a malfunction, the next fetch time printed on your second Fastpass (or an invalid Fastpass) will not be earlier than the next fetch time printed on your first Fastpass even if the next person using the machine gets a next fetch time five minutes away.
