Having read the sticky on the Fastpass system and learning that the DL and DCA systems are not tied together raised a question.

If 4 of us arrive at DL at 8 AM, can one of us leave at 10:30 AM after DCA opens and pick-up 4 FP's over there, or do all 4 of us have to enter the gate at DCA before being able to utilize the DCA Fastpass system?

TIA

Fastpass machines will not work at a given park until your ticket is first used to enter that park. So yes, all 4 of you must enter DCA. However, once that is done, your group can return to DL and hand you their tickets to take back to DCA anytime during the day.

No.....this is not correct, once your tickets have been activated in 1 park they are active in both parks. So yes, one can sent a "runner" over to DCA to get FP for everyone. I can confirm this as of March 2-4.

Yes, you can send a runner. Once your passes are activated in one park, they will work in all FP machines.

Huff, how did you miss this? I have personally done this many times as have others on the forum.

When you have your entrance ticket scanned at either DL or DCA you can get FPs at the opposite park even for those who have not yet entered that park that day.

OK, thanks all. My concern was that if I used the others tickets for FP's at DCA before they had initially entered the park, that when the time came to enter their ticket might show that they had already done so, and they obviously would not have hand stamps yet, which would be a big problem.

Nope! You'll be fine! As the others said (except for Huff, come on that was an easy one! ;)), as long as they are active in ONE park, you can get FP's in the other park. :wizard:

No, only 1 ticket must be scanned to enter the park, you'll have all 4 but only show yours when you enter DCA. Once inside get the FP's you want, when you all enter later you will all have hand stamps to show. :)

Yes, this will work. Keep in mind that the runner in DCA with the four passes will have to come out of DCA for the group to be able to enter... it's not just sufficient to have hand stamps, you need the actual passes to enter a park i.e.

Enter DL with all four people.

Runner leaves DL gets hand stamp and takes all four entry tickets to DCA, where they are used to get FP.

Runner either then re-enters DL and hands all the entry tickets and FP to everyone, and eventually people leave DL, get hand stamps, and enter DCA to use the FP

OR

Other three DL folks get hand stamps on leaving DL, runner meets group in the plaza between the parks, gives them entry tickets, and group enters DCA.

(It may seem like overkill to spell it out like this, but some folks don't realize that the hand stamp alone won't get you into the park if you are re-entering, you need the entry ticket as well.)
