Fastpass question

Hi! We have an ADR for CRT this Sun, 9:00am. I'm sort of bummed about the time because I wanted to hit the park at opening. My question is, if I send my DH over the get a fast pass at Splash Mountain lets say as soon as we get in the park (probably a little early due to ADR), will the FP machines be on? I would assume that they are programmed to start at opening, right? He could at least be there to get some and meet us back at the castle before we eat. Does this sound like a good idea to at least get a jump start on a FP since we will be in the castle at opening?? I hope I 'm not over thinking all this. I really don't want to be the drill sargeant of the trip. Any thoughts would help! Only 3 more days until I see it for myself!

No need to get FP for Splash or BTMRR first-thing in the morning.
These rides don't "fill" until an hour or more into the morning.

They don't usually open the FP machines early because there's no need.

FP machines are not "programmed to open" by themselves.
The ride CMs just cover and uncover them with cloth "sleeves" when needed or not needed.

A better plan for my family would be to enjoy the breakfast, then go and get a FastPass for whatever busy ride we wanted to do. If in your case it's Splash Mountain, you'd finish breakfast around 10:00am. Go and get a FastPass for Splash - should be a return time of 11:00 - 11:30am. In that hour and a half, you could stand in a couple of lines to meet characters and get autographs, wonder up and down Main Street, go through some of the many shops, ride Haunted Mansion, Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree, go over to Tom Sawyer's Island, stand in line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, etc. etc. In other words, just meet the "busy" ride where it is and fill the wait time with the easier to attend rides or attractions in the same land. That always seems to work best for us.
