Fastpass policy

We too were in WDW in October and had no problems using late FP's - ran into this problem when we realized our return time coincided with our ADR. We went to Splash Mtn after dinner and had no problems entering the FP line approx 1 1/2 hours late - so maybe at the discretion of the CM???
Are there any current or former WDW Cast Members on this board? On the DLR boards the CMs say that they are instructed by managers to accept late FastPasses. When people have trouble using a late FP, which is rare, it is because the CM is new and had not heard the instructions yet. Even so, DLR does not publicize this to the guests.

From what I gather about WDW, there is no such policy. It is merely at the whim of the CM. Comments?

HydroGuy, DLR may not publish that FastPass acceptance policy, but it's official enough that it appears several times in The Unofficial Guide to DisneyLand.
At WDW, on the other hand, the official policy is to accept FastPasses during the FP window only; later than that is at the discretion of the Cast Member.

If the fast pass is late, I just walk in like I know what I'm doing. I think if you stop and ask if it's OK then you open yourself up to being told no.

As far as soaring at Epcot, my FP was for 2:00-3:00pm. I went in at 7:30pm, no questions asked.

Check the fastpass machine BEFORE you get the fastpass. It should have the time the fastpass is good for listed.

Also, this seems obvious, but check the standby time instead of automatically assuming you need a fastpass for a populat attraction. Last week, on M:S, the standby time was 10 minutes, and people were getting fastpasses where the window was an hour away. The only logic I see in that is if you know you're either not ready to ride at that time or will want to ride again later that day.

Thanks. That is what I thought. I guess I will have to try to get back during the one hour window at WDW. I never even try at DLR.

OK, here is another one. If you book your stay at DLR thru AAA and stay at a DLR hotel, you can get an "Enhanced FastPass". In a nutshell, it allows you to get FastPasses for any ride without conflicting with what FastPasses you might already have from other rides.

Does any such thing exist at WDW?
