FastPass Plus Version 2.0 (you can get more than 3-- STARTS APRIL 28!)

We could test this... does anyone out there have an AP or ability to pick FPs for today? (just as a simulation). It's 1pm eastern right now (about when you're saying you'd get to the MK) so I'd be interested to know what's available, FP-wise, for this afternoon. Anything for JC?

Be certain to try it for 2 guests, if possible 4. I think that every time someone talks about how FPs are already gone, someone here refutes them by finding that 1 guest can still get some FPs here and there. Not many people have a use for a FP for a single guest.

I would love to help you out with that test but unfortunately the MDE website is so slow and cumbersome it would take 40 minutes to get you an answer!

Testing for three people as of 1:19 pm WDW time. Here is what's available for me:

IASW
Buzz
Dumbo
ETWB ?!?!?!
HM
JC
Tea Party
Cinderella and visiting princess
Mickey at TST
Rapunzel
PhilharMagic
Monsters
Peter Pan!!!
PotC
Space!!!
Splash
Barnstormer
Carpets
WtP
Speedway
Little Mermaid

That's a lot, I think. Not sure crowd levels today.

Now, I wanted to see what was available for a specific time. Looking at 2:30, I can get:

IaSW
Speedway
Buzz
Dumbo
HM
Barnstormer
Carpets
WtP
Tea Party
Little Mermaid

JC is available for 5:05 at the earliest
PotC at 4:10

Just logged on for 4 ppl today at MK.

As of right now, I can get FP+ for the following:
Buzz 4:45
Dumbo 2:00
HM 3:10
IASM 3:10
JC 4:20
Tea Party 1:50
Philharmagic 2:00
Monsters, Inc. 1:40
PP 9:00
Pirates 4:45
Space 10:45
Splash - can find no availability no matter the combination I input
Barnstormer 3:00
Aladdin 1:40
Pooh 3:30
Speedway 4:25
Under the Sea 1:50

I am going to pick some and will edit my post to put in times.

Edited: No matter the combination, I could not get a pass for Splash to be available, even though it wasn't blocked out like BTMRR and most of the meet/greets and parades/fireworks.

How many guests are you guys checking these FPs for?

EDIT: Never mind, I see it now :)

You have to remember you're all thinking about this as if you'll be able to pull one more per hour like you used to but what you're failing to observe is that there are 50,000 guests who all pulled 3 months ago. So the supply is going to be close to gone. There will be scraps left over and nothing else.

Which again goes back to my core issue. If we have a less enjoyable trip because we have to choose between standby lines more than 20 minutes long, or leaving the park, it makes my choice for me. Even with the new system, we still won't get in a line posted at over 20 minutes no matter what. If our outlook and plans have to fundamentally change, I certainly get to complain about it.

I guess our average wait time would go down if we leave the parks. :) That will help the overall wait time math.

As for the A&E fastpass, where are all the people that said you won't ever have to book anything at 60 days out? And yes, I got it, but I had to jump through a hoop by reserving one and then copying it over the rest of our group one at a time to make it work at all. Even then, we have 5 separate return windows.

MK would be the only park I'd try to plan for a 4th FP. Everywhere else it won't be worthwhile during the summer.

At the time the poster you quoted is going to Disney, those rides that we've all taken for granted as "you could ride any time" rides may very well have 30min waits, and being able to get a FP+ for them, even if they are considered "scraps" could be useful. I see statements like that made a lot - that only "scraps" will be left, and they aren't worth it because the rides are easy to get on any time....but that's also old-school thinking, to an extent.

Those "scraps" are just about all the 2nd tier rides! :) People are being forced to pick FP+ for them.

Can anyone do the same for HS and Epcot? Would be interested if any of the major rides have any availability.

I agree with this, but it is still true that the best time of the day to ride SB is early in the morning. The lines might be longer than pre-FP+, but they are still at their shortest for the day.

One could still make FP+ times for 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30, and potentially be able to schedule more FP+ after 12:30 (depending on availability), while still getting in a good 1.5 hrs of good RD SB riding.

I just grabbed a Soarin at 2:35.

I can get

Captain EO for any time
SE for 4:25
Nemo for any time
Turtle Talk for any time.
Maelstrom for any time
Character Spot for any time.

No Mission Space or TT available for me.

all they need to do is make the 4th ROTATING fastpass available to use ANYTIME as long as its within an hour or so window of the other 3 advance fastpasses. this will allow everyone the opportunity to have a fastpass every hour or so...AND still be able to plan in advance....AND not punish those who schedule the advance fastpasses in the evening.

Win, win, win.

ITA! There was a reason many of those rides never had FP (or had it, but it was taken away)...

It's funny, picking the advance FP+s, it reminded me that we hardly ever used FPs for much below the headliners, maybe Buzz or Dinosaur in the afternoons. So I guess we were the people stealing extra rides from everyone else.

What about people, like me, who made late afternoon/evening FP so I could go to another park in the morning and go on popular rides. I would have to wait til late in the day to get more FP. By then FP may be take by those who had earlier FP. My suggestion is to let people get a certain number of FP per day, regardless of the park. IF this does happens, I need to change my reservations.

But that could be a "win" in Disney's book. Now they can squeeze in 3001 extra guests per day. ;)

But, as was the same when legacy was in effect - that's your choice. I was never one who thought fp+ was created to create an equal park experience for everyone, though. :confused3

I really do not like this new fp+ system...but I can say that Disney is genius for coming up with this plan. I hardly ever go to a park on an EMH day. Now I think morning EMH is going to be a huge advantage because that's when the standby lines are probably going to be shortest. If I do go to Disney while fp+ is in effect, I will also will be booking breakfasts in the park before park openings like Crystal palace just so that I can get into the park earlier than others and beat them to the standby lines. That means I am going to spend money on a breakfast I normally wouldn't go to just to beat the long lines. Like I said, Disney is genius.

I find it too much stress and work to try to figure out ways to get ahead of this system in order to get the most out of it. I don't know how Rope drop will be affected at this point, but its my opinion that lines will get longer earlier than they used to simply because people will book their 3 fastpasses earlier than they did in hopes of getting more during the day.

Thank you fam27 and disneyeveryyear for pulling those! So helpful.

This at least gives me a little indication of what's still available. And honestly, it's not that bad. Yeah the headliners are gone... But if we're still able to pull HM, Dumbo, Buzz, Pirates, among other Tier-2's, that's really kind of ok. Mildly reassuring data! :)

Given this, I have a slightly more positive outlook on FP+ 2.0.

True, but if they give everyone these 3 "anytime-passes" then the incentive becomes the opposite. Then the goal would be to book your 3 Fast Passes late and use up your anytime passes early while there is a good selection. So every way you rework it to optimize one style, you're going to hurt another style. All you're doing by changing this or that tweak is taking a fast entry / slot from one person and making it easier / more convenient for another person to get.
