Hiya All.

I have searched various forums and keep finding conflicting reports.

My question is, if you are staying "off site" can you reserve your ride slots in advance?

This is our first "offsite" year and to be honest, if you cant I'm thinking of giving Disney a miss altogether this year :guilty:

Thank you in advance

Annette:)

As of today, you cannot pre-book FP+, you can do that on the day at the park by using FP+ kiosks or asking a CM with an iPad.

It is rumored that, in the future (unkown timeframe) you might be able to book through the app, and possibly in advance (very, very unsafe assumption)

but as of now, you need to go to the park and do your FP+ reservations on the day.

chmurf is (kind of) right in that those staying offsite cannot currently make FP+ reservations.

However, there have been various reports that those people who are staying offsite but have made ADRs have received messages telling them they will be able to make FP+ reservations in advance starting in April.

I have no idea if any of those people will be able to make FP+ reservations come April but, if so, this will open up another avenue to people staying offsite.

Now, I'm not great with change anyways if I'm honest but for offsite guests its going to be shocking if you cant ride any of the most popular rides due to all fast passes been taken up by onsite guests in advance.

I know some have said that this wouldn't happen but look at TSM, regardless of the time of year all FP's have always gone for the day by say 10am ish. If onsite guests can reserve these in advance then who's to say offsite wont even get a chance on the day to ride unless they queue for over an hour.

I get its all about given "onsite" guests benefits but surely Disney are going to have to re-think this one?

Also, hopper tickets, Offsite Guests may as well not bother adding on the extra cost as they'll have no chance if say they get to a park after 3pm?

Just my opinion :wave2:

Annette:)

Even given the negativity surrounding it, I haven't yet read any reports of offsite guests not being able to FP+ the popular rides - I can only imagine that Disney would keep FP+ reservations open for those who have to wait to book on the day. Yes, it would mean that if you don't arrive until later, your chances will be slim but that is no different to before anyway.

I do agree with you about park hopping though - for offsite guests, it seems pointless.

We always stay onsite and Im yet to ride TSM lol. As you say all the fast passes go and I remember looking at the wait and it was 90 mins!!! This was at 1025 am in low season. I do not see what the fascination is but I will do it.
I do think offsite guests get a raw deal regards the park hopping and FP+ but others on here im sure will say its "part of the privilege of staying on site". One of my bug bares is dvc members not getting free dining or at least a discount but thats something I knew when I bought. Extra magic hours is not something I go to as you tend to find that particular park is heaving so I tend to avoid. Only one We do is MK.

Just out of interest, does anyone know when the first FP+ window of the day is?

For example, using FP-, with a 09:00 opening you could grab a FP valid from about 09:30 onwards... I'm just wondering with the new system whether they can be booked from opening, meaning RD and rushing to standby is not that beneficial either?!

My first FP+ reservation of the day, for our AK day, is 8.30-9.30 (park officially opens at 8 although EMH means opening is actually at 7). I can't remember whether I could have got one for earlier.

I had just assumed it would be on the same principle as the ADRs and therefore 5 minutes after opening (so 9.05).
