On one of the Unofficial Guide plans it suggests starting the morning by getting a FP for two rides (lets say Splash and TMRR) before acutally using either one of them.

I thought the FP rule was that you could only have one FP at a time unless a 2 hour window has passed since you obtained the first.

Can someone please clarify for me?

(My apology if this is already in this board somewhere........I'm still getting used to this overwhelming info and not sure where I've looked and where I still have to visit!)

Perhaps they are talking about the fact that you can get a 2nd fastpass once the first fastpass is useable. For instance if you had a FP for Splash Mountain at 10 am you could go ahead and get your fastpass for BTMRR at 10:01 before you got on Splash Mountain. So, technically you are holding 2 fastpasses. :wave2:

That being said, you are correct, and that is why it becomes such a "hot" issue!

The most important thing to know is that you may not use a FP BEFORE the time alotment that is stated on the FP, so in the case of AK Safari, I thought my watch was correct, we came 1 minute before fast pass time, only to find a LONG line waiting for FP time :confused3 The CM would call out the time, and anyone with that time was allowed thru the FP line! People were waiting in the PRE FP line for their FP times to come up!! :confused3

And what happens at some rides, a shut down, at your FP time, in which case you can have use of that FP when the ride operates again (Test Track is a great example, it closes with any kind of rain, for safety reasons!)

when you get your FP it tells you when you can get your next FP, that is why I do usually try and plan my touring to include a stop at another FP machine when that "window of time" states, then hit my ride....

There will be other experiences, which causes hot bed issues, but the bottom line is to keep the FP moving FAST, we shouldnt "abuse" the system, and I realize that wasnt what your question was asking!!

There is also a time delay where the FP may not begin yet, but you can still get one. This time delay depends on how many people are in the park getting FP's. It ranges between 45 minutes to 2 hours. And the FP machine will go by whichever comes first so if there are few people in the park using the machine and you got a Splash Mountain FP at 10:00 for 11:00, you can probably get a FP for BTMRR at 10:45 PM.

If you would like any more information on FP, there is a great website: http://members.aol.com/ajaynejr/fastpass.htm

technically you could have 2 FPs in hand.

Say you have a FP for Splash with return time between 10:10am-11:10am with ability to get another fastpass after 10:15am. Well... say at 10:15am you're still in Fantasyland and you decide to get a FP for Peter Pan. You are now the proud owner of 2 FPs in your hand.

Each attraction has their own FP times, so yes, there is always the possibility of having FPs for 2 different attraction in your hand. We had 2 FPs several times during our trip.

Actually the two hour window would be the longest time you would have to wait between getting fastpasses. Your f/p will have a time on it stating when you can get another f/p. My experience around park opening is that the return times will be close to the time that you received the pass, so your window to get another pass will be almost immediate. You could then do several rides without pastpass since the standby lines at that point would be relatively short, and use your fastpasses as they become active. Don't forget to get more fastpasses then, too !
