Fastpass Flexibility?

We had 6 people in our group, and I got all our fastpasses together at the 60 day mark. Last week, we added a 7th person to our party. I was able to get fastpasses very close to the times, usually overlapping, of our original group for this last person. As an example, we have fastpasses for Expedition Everest at 9:20 for the 6 of us. The closest I could get for our new addition is 9:50.

I'm just curious if in this situation, there is any possibility that our additional person would be allowed to enter with us at 9:20? Has anyone had any experience with it?

Probably not - there is a 5 minute grace period before the fp+ and a 15 minute after so the earliest for the 9:50 would be 9:45.
Is there a reason you can't all ride between 9:50 and 10:20 (or 10:35 using the grace period) ?

Well, we want to ride EE three times first thing in the morning. We'll have to wait an extra 20 minutes to use the Fastpasses on our third round. What I already know - I'm an over-planner and OCD and timing at Disney never works out like you think it will....

But just curious. Thanks!

I would just try to modify it even on the morning you'll be there or use the 5 minute grace period and go once it overlaps. A CM may allow them to use it early but I hate to rely on needing someone doing us a favour in my planning.

Go single rider line in addition to your fast passes.

If six have it and one is a bit early in the same group, very likely they will waive the person in and activate the FP early. No guarantees, but personally when we've had FP issues that have affected a single person in a larger party - they're pretty much always waived through. (I wouldn't try this on Rise of the Resistance . . . but with Everest I think you'll be fine particularly because the standby line and single rider are likely to be not much longer than FP especially if you all arrive right at the start of the FP window).

I would be thrilled that I actually got that person FP that are within the same time frame. I would take that as a win and go within that time period.

I think it might depend on what time of the year you’re going. If it’s Presidents‘ Day weekend or during the spring break crowds, I don’t think the CMs will be able to accommodate you. But if it’s a relatively “slow” weekday in January, I wouldn’t be surprised if the CM let your 7th person in with your group.

Of course, if it’s a relatively slow weekday in January, there’s also a good chance you’ll be able to modify the 7th FP in advance to match your other FPs, and then you won’t have to worry about it at all. Good luck!

One out of every ten CMs MIGHT let the last person slide early. I’d save the hassle and just go for the times the FPs are actually for if they’re already overlapping.
