Fastpass Enforcement coming?

It doesn't make them right though.

Come March 7th, this thread becomes moot, if the various reports are to be believed.

I wonder how all the "Strict Windowers" feel about the 5-minute-early, 15-minute-late policy?

I've really learned a lot from this thread. I never realized how immoral a person I was for following a Disney policy that is printed (CM documentation from earlier in the thread) and actively announced and encouraged by CM's (youtube videos from earlier in the thread). I truly am a complete moral degenerate. Thank you to those who have revealed my lack of ethics to me. Instead of feeling insulted as some have chosen to do, I am truly grateful to those who have opened my eyes. :thumbsup2

Don't be discouraged. Have a beer. Watch some NASCAR. Just don't climb the tree with the rabbit ears...

see, what you need to do is invent a time machine, and then every two hours, go back to RD and grab another FP, then you'll have multiples

It's all about time machines.

And ball bearings.

It's all ball bearings these days.

Seriously, this thread is now contributing nothing to society except for humor.

What seems to be unclear? Maybe you can show me how 5 extra people infront of me delay me just as much as 20 extra people?

I guess I'll just resign myself to being less morally upstanding and dumber than you and leave it at that.

I hope I'm reading this incorrectly and that you didn't mean to imply that those who live with catastrophic illnesses/disabilities are looking for a "trick" in order to one up other paying customers on their Disney experiences. My only point in joining this discussion was to refute the assertion that there is "never" a viable excuse for missing a prescribed time slot on a FP return. And I maintain that by hoping Disney takes this into consideration as they revisit current standards of service, I am in no way attempting to "waste" anybody else's valuable vacation time. I know that Disney has been a Godsend for many people with disabilities, and I would hate to see that disappear because of a lack of FP accessibility. If (and that seems like a big if right now) Disney decides to enforce FP times, I would hope that they concurrently offer a GAC accommodation. Not an open invitation to use the FP whenever, but it would be nice to have a 30-60 minute cushion in case an unforeseen medical need comes up.

And thank you to those who expressed some compassion for those of us in much different situations.

I do hope that they will come out with better use of GAC, maybe letting people to use late FP if their needs call for it or some other way. I have nothing agaist someone who actually needs it to go infront of the line. However, I do not believe that little kids or just desire to maximize your experience is valid excuse to take advantage over those in line with same situation including people with disabilities(in line). I think it is low to try to guilt someone in such situation with compassion talk when person shows no compassion to others in a first place. Sorry if I upset you in any way, definitely did not mean so.

I'm guessing that lots of the frustration on this thread comes from discussing this for almost 80 pages. ;). There are for the most part two camps here and I don't think either is going to be winning over many hearts and minds.

What I do wish we would start discussing is ideas to work within the new guidelines, either tips or ideas that would be useful.

Some poor brave soul tried to start a new thread for doing this with NO debates. One of the first comments posted was that he needed to return within the window.

I for one have already adjusted a couple of ADR's, and am looking at utilizing some early EMH's. Still a work in progress. :)

C'mon, it is not about morales here, can't care about it less if it did not affect me, just like I will not chase someone with 10 years old mug.;) It is about simple math.

I think it is hard for some of us to do, as we have never not worked within the guidelines. Not that that makes me morally superior, because I don't think it does, it was just how we toured. What has been posted on the other thread that I can remember is:

Do headliners during parades/fireworks
Take full advantage of Extra Magic Hours
Use a touring plan service
Grab Fast Passes and tour that area of the park until your time come up.

Even if you do all of the above, if you are used to collecting FPs and using them all later on, it will still be a hard adjustment. I don't think there is any way around it.

You didn't upset me - I have developed a fairly thick skin over the years! I just wanted to understand, which now I do. So thank you :goodvibes

Pretty sure they'll pretend it's not a real policy. :)

And don't forget you will have to convince at least two CMs once the policy goes into effect. There is one to allow you into the queue, and a second one at the merge point who actually collects the FPs.

Hopefully the second CMs get told to be more proactive in checking the FPs...in generally, they seem to assume that the first CM did that checking.

Look, I said that people with a late fastpass were welcome to go in front of ME, obviously you do not want people going in front of you with a late FP, and you'll get your way soon enough.

Personally I think telling someone that they can't ride a ride because they are late to their FP time is pretty hard-lined, and lacks compassion for whatever circumstance lead them to miss it (be it large or small).

Here, I'll extend the olive branch, if we are ever in the parks at the same time, I'll let you always go head of me in line, be it standby or FP (that way you won't know if my FP is expired or not ;) )

From earlier:

However, being late for 15 min is very different from being late for 5 hours. Collector has no intention to make it during printed time frame as suggested by many here. Collector intentionally breaks the rule and using exception or loophole, not because of situation that came out unexpectadly but because it is more convenient for him. Collector plan his day initially around loophole and not actual rule. It affects others and because of it, it is wrong.

If not a morality judgment, then what is this?

Now on to your latest question:

doconeill has set me straight on the minor ripple any late FP user has. But since I'm a glutton for punishment, please explain to me the "very different" cases you cite above. Other than intent--which is no one else's beeswax--what is the difference?

The difference is delay distributed more even when you late by 15 min and more visible when everyone is back from midday break and decide to use their FPs.

What seems to be unclear? Maybe you can show me how 5 extra people infront of me delay me just as much as 20 extra people?

Are those 5 or 20 people in front of you 15 minutes late or 5 hours late? How can you tell? Do the ones only 15 minutes late take less time to process through the queue than the ones 5 hours late? Is it less wrong for the 15-minute people than the 5-hour people? This is where the simple math eludes me.

Oh, thank you, you will make my day so much better by following rules. Sorry for sarcasm but you started. ;)

Well, you also do not know who is going infront of you, so you technically not letting them infront of you, you have no choice just like me. But you have a choice when you forcing people to wait for you, people in a same situation with you, so...

I go for 12 years, I know late FP delay me and I do not let it bother me as this is something I have no control over. However, all this cry from people who cannot waste their time by watching clock but feel free to waste my time, exuse me, let me just roll my eyes. This attitude toward situation is pure entitlement even so I hate to use this word, I do not know what else to use. And guilting is just a cherry on top, makes me smile.

Anyway, March 7 does not affect me and I hope you will figure out how to use your day in park productively.
