Does anyone know what happens if you make a fastpass reservation but the ride ends up being closed down for refurbishment or shut down due to weather? I've already made my 60 days out selections and am curious to see what happens if you arrive at your scheduled time and the ride is not open. Thanks

If the ride closes the day you're there, they'll give you another fastpass that can be used (almost) anywhere, any time that day.

You will get a message with a list of rides you can do, including the ride that is currently down (if it is a temporary closure).

not sure about refurbishment (would think it wouldn't allow FP selections at all?) but in case of ride breaks down you will end up with an "anytime" FP in your my disney experience account. Usually for any attraction with exceptions of the highly sought after ones in that specific park-and only to be used that day. Not sure if this happens with weather related shutdowns?

If the ride shut downs after you've gotten into the FP queue you may get a paper FP (like old legacy FP) that is good up to 3 days later.

If you have a smart phone you can go in and you'll get an email. They do limit what rides you can use it on, last summer I would get BTMR but not Splash (had a couple of days when PoC kept going down). It was always at least 4/5 rides offered (including the actual ride that went down).

The CM did tell me they try to offer a ride in the same area or an adjacent one.

I also had SDMT go down and I think that FP was for any FL ride or SDMT itself, I've never had SDMT show up as a replacement for another closure.

It goes on your band and shows up on you app so really easy to use, but you really need to have the app or access to your email to know what rides they offer as a replacement. Although you might be able to check with a CM at the kiosks.

Back in June 2014, we had FP+ for SDMT (second one of our trip, so we already rode it once) and there was lightning that basically shut down every outdoor anything for 2-3 hours. Over the course of the day, the status for the outside rides went from closed to open propbably 2-3 different times. Anyway, before we left the area, I asked at the FP desk at the ride what could I do if my FP+ time was for when it was clolsed, and the CM told me that they would just honor the FP whenever I came back as long as the ride was closed for the full time that my reservation was for. I never got to go back and actually test that theory, but it seemed fair to me.
