"By the end of 2013."

Quote, Unquote.

Several people have reported that IT CMs have told them that these "tests" are merely a phased roll-out and that new resorts will get added each month until all are included. Seems to make sense with what we've seen so far.

I was just talking with my friend who is a CM and that's exactly what they said. By the end of October every resort should be included. One thing they still don't know is how to handle AP holders.

In the August quarterly earnings call, Bob Iger said we'd "probably" see full rollout in the early part of Disney's Fiscal 14.

Fiscal 14 begins in October 2013, and just on the math "early" could mean anytime the first half of the fiscal year--e.g. up til the end of March 2014...

Has anything been mentioned anywhere about when it might be available for offsite guests? We are going in October and staying offsite. I hope we don't have to use it then so I have more time to plan and prepare for it before our next trip.

That's my question. We have APs and stay offsite.

I've read that the FP+ will not be available for people offstie. Plus, depending on which hotel your staying you will have limited acess to FP+. Ex: values will have up to 3 FP availble to them per day. Moderate 4 Fp per day and delux up to 5 Fp per day. In my opinion this is descrimination not everyone can offered staying on site and let alone pay for delux hotel to get up to 5 fp per day.... I don't approuve of this coming change.:sad2:

FP+ will be available off-site, it just isn't now. There's also been nothing suggesting that you'll receive more or less FP+ based on deluxe/moderate/value. You read some bad info!

I believe these are just rumors, not known facts. There are rumors that guests might be treated differently under FP+ if they are onsite versus offsite and value versus moderate or deluxe. There are also rumors that everyone with a ticket will have equal, free access, and other rumors that offsite guests will be able to purchase access. As far as I known, the *testing* has only been available to resort guests and there has been no discrimination among resort types. And, as far as I know, there has been no official announcement from Disney answering any of these questions about how the FP+ system will actually work.

I would also be very disappointed in Disney if access to FP+ depends on where a guest is staying. They have every right to make that choice, following the greedy footsteps of other theme parks. However, I would be very embarrassed to remember all the times I've told people that the equal treatment under the free fastpass system was one of the ways the Disney experience was special and magical. [EMH were always VERY easy to avoid in all but a couple weeks a year. I consider them a fair perk for staying onsite.] I will keep believing in the magic and trust Disney to get this part of FP+ right. :)

I spoke with an IT CM this morning about a problem we were having with MDX (two of me, with two tickets and no ticket for DH...uh, helllooo?).

I wish there were two of me on lots of days. But I digress.

We are first-timers, staying 10/31 to 11/3 at CSR. When I asked about FP+/MB possibilities for us she really hedged, finally saying that decisions about that resort going live with MB's hadn't been made yet. Gave me a line about that it depended on how "the next phase of testing into mid October" goes.

I am sure there is a rollout plan---she stumbled too much for there not to be.

Still hoping I get the "customize bands" to show up next week when we hit 60 days but not holding my breath. I don't care about the bands, but the FP+ ability would be nice since we're newbies.

I have an AP and it linked to my Magic Band for my last trip and worked fine. Only time I had to take my AP out was going through the breakfast entrance at Epcot as that was still. Legacy turnstile.

I think I have FP+ Nervousness Disorder.

I can adjust to whatever the new plan is, I'd just like to know what it is and when it's coming. We go the week after Thanksgiving, and I'd love to know whether I should plan for it or not. I swear I get butterflies in my stomach (not the good kind) every time I start thinking of our day-to-day plan for while we're there. I have ADRs planned and know which park(s) we're going to each day, but there's a couple of days that we're doing things very differently than what we normally do and I'm kind of stuck on how to plan it.

I guess at this point, I'm going to work on what we would do under the current plan, as well as what I would do if we have 3 pre-planned FPs to work with in a day. I was a lot happier when I thought we'd get this trip in before FP+ takes effect! I'm too Type-A to be a very good guinea pig.

Regular FP will likely still be going at that time (can't guarantee that, but it seems like it will be). In that case, you can look at FP+ as simply an add-on to a "typical" trip to WDW. Don't fret over it. Add some FP+ when/where you can, and if you can't be there for them, it's no big deal.

That definitely didn't sound right to me!!!
Disney isn't Universal.

Page 89 of the 2014 Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World has this speculation. It's a forecast/guess, not a fact....

That would be awesome! I'd be in heaven if that were the case! But if we have MBs won't we be ticketless and cardless and unable to pull paper FPs?

I keep seeing a lot of the test people raving about how much they enjoyed FP+ but they had access to legacy FPs too. Not really a good indicator of how it will be with 3 FPs for a single park, is it?
