So I am looking at the lines app on TP right now since it's spring break and the crowds are probably similar to how they will be the second week in June when we go, and only 15 min after rope drop A LOT of FP are already gone for the day (some reported gone at 9am).

HS:

TOT Gone
RnRC Gone
GMR Gone
STours 8pm+

AK:

Dinosaur 5:20pm+
EE Gone
Safari Gone
Kali Closed

MK:
BTMRR 8:30pm+
Pan 5:50pm+
7DMT Gone (obviously)
Space 1:40pm, 7:20pm+
Splash 6:20pm+

Is this normal and what I should expect to not be available for early June if I want to make SDFP at rope drop? I just thought it would be better than that. Goodness gracious. :confused3

Can't really help with SDFP - never done it, but this week and next are huge spring break crowds. I think I read somewhere they are expecting to set attendance records next week.(for spring break) While June will be crowded I don't think it will be anything like this week or next.

Not saying there will be SDFP available, especially for the headliners, but maybe.

I hear ya. We typically don't have to mess with SDFP since we have gone in slower times in the past, but we did go early June back in 2012 (before FP+) and I remember the crowds being moderate and no issues with getting paper FP for anything during the day....but things are a bit different now. I just assumed that we would need to use SDFP this trip after our FP+ are used and was wondering what would be available after the first few hours of the parks being open.

I totally understand. We usually go during busy times so don't even bother with SDFP, just do what we can do. It will be interesting to see what happens once you can book your 4th FP on the app instead of the kiosks. Might give it try then.

We will be there starting June 10th and I know there are not a lot of DVC rooms available, so I'm expecting pretty decent crowds.

I am planning for worst case scenario with crowds so if they aren't as bad that will be a plus. I am sure it won't be anything like 4 years ago lol. We are rope droppers so no worries there but you can only get some many rides in the first hour or two lol!

Yep, I've already told my group be ready for crowds just in case. We are all adults, long time WDW visitors, and go a couple times every year, so usually we do some rope drop but otherwise just take our 3 FPs and then do what we can after that.

Last time we were there in June was 2013 when my daughter got married at WDW. I don't remember it being overly crowded - normal summer crowds - but it was very hot, almost unbearable.

We have been going since 2011 and this year we are letting our DS14 take a friend that has never been before so trying to get as much in since it's his first time. It also makes our family of 4 a party of 5 so that has been interesting to plan since I am used to 4. I remember out last June trip being quite hot, but still I think late August had to have been worse...like surface of the sun hot lol! I think we have decided after this trip we are going to just upgrade to AP's and take mini trips throughout the year since the kids are getting older. It still seems crazy to me that so many headliners would be out for the whole day at rope drop though this week, even with Spring Break. Really puts the pressure on to get your 3FP planned right and have a really good touring plan if you want to get in the majority of things. We will typically schedule FP for our evening park and do rope drop standby but it just seems like that morning window of getting a lot in gets shorter and shorter each year, so we may need to use those for our day touring mid morning and figure something else out in the evening. Off peak crowds and legacy FP have spoiled us I think. :/

I hear ya. We have been going at least once a year since 1998 so I've seen a lot of changes in crowds and FPs over the years. I've also taken friends of my DDs who were there for the first time so I know what that is like. We've been during Christmas, New Years, spring break, summer, and Food & Wine, so we know what the crowds can be like.

Hope you have a great trip!
