We have never been in August before. Our plan will be to swim in the morning and hit the parks in the afternoon until closing. Will fastpasses be gone by then? This would be the first to second week of August. Thanks for any help.

I think it depends on how popular the ride is. Your plan will not work for Test Track. If you are there when the new ride in Epcot opens (can't think of the name right now) I'm sure you'll have to be there EARLY to get a FP.

If you want to avoid the lines it may be better to get the parks early.

You might want to try the parks in the morning, then come back to the hotel in the afternoon for swimming, then back to the parks late afternoon/evening. The afternoon Florida sun & heat at the parks can take its toll.

I agree...we went in August before and we hit the parks early in the morning and then came back to the resort for swimming in the afternoon! It worked out great and we got to ride everything we wanted to in the morning! :)

Thanks for your help. I agree, mornings are great, but we have been to WDW enough, that the kids enjoy the resort/pool even more than the parks. So my thought is that the pool will not be too crowded in the a.m. Then we can hit the few attractions later on that are "must see". I'm just afraid that fast passes will be gone for the day.

Hi Goofy'sFriend,

The previous responses are correct. FASTPASSes for Test Track will almost certainly be gone by early afternoon. For the more popular attractions, especially in the Magic Kingdom, the return time for FASTPASSes may serveral hours away, too. That would mean spending a lot of time in the parks waiting for your FPs to become valid.

Sincerely,

Len

We went last year, the last week in August. We had very few waits for anything however, when we arrived at Epcot around 4:00, FP for TT were gone and there was a 55 minute wait. Luckily we met some awesome CMS who worked out a deal with us, and we were able to avoid the line. ;)

Goofy's Friend,

Because our kids also love the pool, we've also tried your plan, hanging out at the pool and then hitting the parks. It kept the kids quite happy. We went the end of August when crowds were smaller and didn't have any trouble getting fast passes except for Test Track.

You may consider mixing up your schedule a bit and going early a couple of mornings towards the end of your stay if there are attractions you haven't hit yet. By then, the kids will have had maximum pool time and won't mind an early start at the park.
