Anyone have a good strategy for this?

I'm travelling with:
2 adults
7 yr old DS = 50 inches
3 yr old DD = 38 inches

7 yr old is a thrill rider. Wants to hit all 3 mountains. DD wants A&E.

So like a day Im going to MK, how would I best make use of my FP. I have no way of knowing if DD is going to be 40 inches by then. I'm assuming she won't be in 60 days.

Do I book 2 for A&E and 2 for a mountain, and then can I rider swap the adults on the mountain with DS?

How about in Tier situations?

Is there a good strategy to help plan this. Window opens tonight!

We were debating doing single rider for Test Track, DS will be 7 is that going to be a problem?

Is DD3 going to want to ride big rides? if you think DD3 may want to ride 40" rides, I have seen people:
-fold stack napkins and stick under heel of child wearing tennis shoes
-allow little ones to wear "Dress up" shoes that have a significant "heel" on them to add height
-wear sketcher-type wedge flip flops to add a little height

If DD3 will NOT want to ride big rides, are you going to want to split up? If so, you could take DS7 with all 4 MB's to ride each headliner twice (using both your and DS's FP+ and then ride a second time with DW and DD's FP+) while DW and DD go ride non-headliners that don't need FP+...?

Or you could book separate FP+ for DW and DD3 (like A&E) from the ones you book for you and DS7 (thrill rides/headliners)?

I don't like splitting up and luckily my youngest DD is tall AND is my thrill seeker, so she has been riding headliners since she was preK age;)

No, you would not be able to book only 2 FP+ (for you and DS7) and be able to get DW in to rider swap --DW wouldn't be allowed in FP queue without a FP+ for that ripe in that window

As far as single rider for DS7, I wouldn't have done that with any of my DD when they were 7 (I have no DS)...depends on how mature DS7 is, I suppose. There was a recent thread about a DD10 going single rider and people were ok with that (And I would allow DD10 to go single rider as long as either DH or myself were also in single rider line with her up until loading ...AND in large part because she has ridden TT a million times in her life at this point; has DS7 already ridden TT --not sure if this is your first trip?)

I have read many reports of CMs asking kids to remove their shoes if it looks like the shoes are artificially adding to their height. I would not recommend taking any of these steps to circumvent the height requirements.

The people riding with the RS swap pass do not need to have a FP+ scheduled for the ride. THe first riders, if they are going through the FP+ line, need to have a FP+. The second riding group, riding with the RS pass, does not need a FP+.

To be clear: I am not "advocating" these methods; I am simply stating that I have witnessed these methods being used successfully. I have not observed any CM asking children to remove shoes for being measured for height requirement.

To make sure I understand: could OP book FP+ for himself and DS7 (not for DW nor DD3), enter FP queue using OP's FP+ and DS7 FP+, and CM would allow DS7 to ride a second time with DW even though DW did not have a FP+? (if so, this is very surprising to me!)

I didn't make any comment to your intent. Just telling the OP of the many reports I have read here so that she can be fully informed when making this decision for her family.

I understand!! I just wanted to make sure I was clear that I wasn't advocating/recommending either;)

Scenario:

Adult #1 and DS prebook a FP+ for Thunder Mountain
Once in the park and FP+ window has opened, entire family goes to BTMRR
PResent the too short child to the CM at the front of the lien, receive Rider Swap (RS) pass
Adult #1 and DS ride Thunder Mountain while Adult #2 and DD wait
Adult #1 and DS exit the ride
Adult #2 and DS approach BTMRR
Adult #2 and DS give their RS pass to the CM at the front of the line and enter the FP+ line with it
Adult #2 and DS ride BTMRR while Adult #1 and DD wait.

Only Adult #1 and DS need a FP+. DS gets 2 rides out of the deal, one with each adult.

what great news! I didn't realize that would be an option! Thanks for clarifying!!!

OP: Angel Ariel's scenario above is a great deal for your family!!!
