Fastpass+ and MYW ticket upgrade to AP

I currently have a few 1 and 2 day Magic Your Way tickets (leftovers from free dining packages). I typically upgrade these to AP's when at the parks. (Though, I haven't been to WDW in 3 years). I will be upgrading 2 day passes to AP's on my next trip in August. I called Guest Relations and they confirmed to me that I cannot upgrade the park tickets until I am in WDW.

My August reservation is for 9 days at Coronado Springs, and I am within the 60 day Fastpass+ window. However, due to the limit of Fastpass+ reservation days imposed based on park tickets in hand I cannot book more than 4 days of Fastpass reservations.

I did find a workaround. Last week I booked a package that includes a 10 day park ticket (requiring a $200 deposit placed on a credit card). I was then able to book all the Fastpass days I wanted. I then cancelled the package (packages can be cancelled for a full refund up to 30 days out). When cancelling, there was a notice that Fastpass+ reservations associated with the resort reservation would be cancelled. However, it is a week later and all 9 days of Fastpasses have remained associated to me in MDE.

Is there another way I could have gotten Fastpasses for all 9 days of my stay?

The workaround did not work. The Fastpass selections were deleted from MDE today. In order for me to make FP reservations for my entire stay I had to order the AP in advance without getting any credit for my MYW passes.
