Fastest way to order?

We are going to WDW in June 2009 with three teenagers and four adults. I am leaning toward the QS dining plan. I am wondering if it would be faster to order all seven orders at once, or have each person order for theirself?
Thanks, Pam

All 7 at once would be much faster. Paying (swiping the card) takes a long time.

My reply was skewed with my DVC membership and a potentially false assumption that you're all in the same room.

How many rooms are you in? How many adults/children are in each room? If you are not all in the same room you'll need to pay somewhat separately.

Each card will say how many adults and how many children are on that specific plan. You can order no more than what the card states.

Thanks, I didn't think about our two rooms.
We will all be adults (over age 10). We have three in one room and four in the other. So we can order three together and four together. That makes it easier. Thanks again, Pam

Multiple rooms can be on one reservation and your cs credits are lumped not by room, but by reservation. You can order as many cs meals as you want with one card.

Some people say this has to equal or be less than the number of dining plan participants shown on the key card, but I was told by a manager at Sunshine Seasons I could order all 35 (for our entire stay) cs meals at one time if I wanted (I didn't). They are not set up by "sitting" the way the ts are, but more like snack credits. Have fun planning.

Well, the peaceful way to do it is to let everyone order for themselves and one person pays. You did mention "teenagers" and we all know they can be a little moody if their order is off just a bit...lol

The other thing to consider is where you are eating. If its at the resort food court just let everyone get their own meal and pay for it. At the parks some places have multiple lines (Cosmic Ray's) so again letting everyone take care of themselves would be best.

In July DH and I had our 2 little ones with us, so DH would take a quick look at the menu at CS places, tell me what he wanted (he is generally easy to please so it was quick for him to decide), find a table with the kids while I waited in line and got all of our food. He texted me where he was sitting and I would get his text while waiting for the food. Worked out very nicely! The only place we didn't do this was at the Pop Century food court because there were various stations and it took less time for me to get my food and the kids' food first, then stay with them and eat while DH got his food.

the manager at SS is correct... CS is not delineated the same as TS...

that being said, i think the mix/match approach is the best... depending on the set up at each CS restaurant will determine how you order... multiple lines=divide and conquer... one line=send two people (too much to carry for one person)...

Okay!!! So I guess we will check out the lines then decide what is best. I like the texting idea. Don't you love cell phones!?!! It is going to be 'fun' with the teens. I hope I can keep them entertained but give them free time too. Thanks again, Pam F

Having been with groups of 13 and 20 to disney a few times, I have to say that haviing a few orders together on one CS order is better. One time we had all 13 order then one person pay. this seemed easy right then, but they then put all the drinks on a tray and it made it difficult dividing up who's food was what and if we really got everything when we returned to the table.
just my 2 cents.

Bill

If you can keep it all straight I say order together. I have been behind so many people that stand in the line and then have no idea what they want to order when they get up there. Just know what everyone wants...drink, meal, dessert.

Excellent point! We were a group of 7 and when we ordered we wrote down what everyone wanted before getting in line to order. My sister usually stuck with me in line (both for company and help carrying orders back to the table)
