What is the fastest way from Italy in World Showcase to MK? We have an early dinner planned at Via Napoli, but then an after-hours event at MK that same evening. Debating whether to 1) take monorail, 2) take bus from BC or Boardwalk, 3) drive from BC or 4) cancel dinner

The monorail, you must take 2, with a wait in between. Expect 45 minutes minimum.
The bus will drop you off by the gate. It all depends on how long you wait for the bus at the resort
Driving, remember you will park at the TTC and take the monorail or ferry over.
You could consider Uber from Board Walk to Contemporary, then walk to MK.
Assuming your after hours starts at 9 or later:
Have your dinner ADR at 6 or earlier, then take the bus from Board Walk to MK.

I would take the bus from the BC. I think it will be the shortest walk and will drop you at the front of MK. There will be a wait for the bus.

I think all of the alternatives will take about the same amount of time.

Uber/Lyft from the BC to the Contemporary might be a little quicker, with more walking, provided there is a car nearby and on how quickly you can walk to the MK.

What are the times of the ADR and After Hours event? Also related, are you trying to be at MK right at 7pm when you can get in, or more towards the actual event time?

Sorry I always screw up Quotes.
Wanted to say we have done this many times from Via. Walk to BC. Take Uber/Lyft to BLT and walk to MK.

Our ADR is at 5:20, and our thought was to head to MK after we eat (knowing we probably won't be there at 7, but could be shortly thereafter).

Part of me thinks I should just cancel the ADR, but my DS really loves Via Napoli and it may be the only night we can fit it in given other evening plans during the week. It is also the last night of our trip so we need to spend part of the afternoon packing. So many factors to consider.

If you've had other MK time that week and aren't itching to be at MK right away, I see no issue with a dinner at Via Napoli and then making your way to MK via monorail. The real value of DAH is the actual event time itself, not necessarily the ability to get in at 7pm (again, if you've had other MK time)... so seems like a fun evening to me.

One thing I've learned about events such as MNSSHP, MVMCP, and DAHs - I never do a good job of actually eating dinner and then seem to chase being hungry the rest of the night. A good meal that you enjoy is a nice way to power up for a solid MK evening, in my opinion.

You can always check in early to dinner too.

I like your style!

Uber would probably be the fastest, but would be a roughly $13-$15 cost and would still require the same amount of walking. You can either walk to the front of Epcot to get one, or walk out the IG over to BC or BWI to get one. Take it to the Contemporary so that you can walk from there over to MK, and not have to get dropped off at the TTC.

Whether you take the monorail or take the bus from BC, I am guessing the time difference and walking difference will be negligible. If you're not leaving Epcot at park closing where it would be busy, then the monorail is probably the more fun choice IMO.

I have never been able to check in early to any ADR. I have always been told, please come back 10 or 15 minutes before your time.

Fair point. We've had good luck checking in early (and by early, I mean like 15-25 mins) and being seated pretty quickly at Via Napoli since it's a high churn restaurant, especially at early or non-peak hours. Although of course, YMMV.
