What is the fastest way to get to Fantasyland? I would expect through the Castle but my DH thinks it would be around the Castle? Any suggestions?

While through the castle would be faster, it is often closed off for shows and you must go around the castle. I actually do not recall being able to go through the castle on our visit this past Feb. Someone else will probably remember better than I, but I am thinking that you will probably have to go around.

When available through the Castle, although it's not always open to do that.

During my most recent visit to the Magic Kingdom (the week after Thanksgiving, 2006), the castle was blocked all day long, and one had to walk around the castle to get to Fantasyland. In addition, during and after every fireworks show, Fantasyland was roped off, so to get, for example, from Tomorrowland to Fronierland one had to walk around the castle. Very difficult at times to get around in the Magic Kingdom at times. This was especially true during the Christmas party, and the large crowds just made it even more difficult to move from place to place.

Through the castle without a doubt, so long as it's open. Through Tomorrowland if it's not.

I would say through the castle if it's open. If not, there are 2 walkways that go around the castle. The one to the left goes over the bridge of Liberty Square, turns past Sleepy Hollow and goes up the right of the castle. Then on the right side you go past Belle's Storytime Garden and go past the left side of the castle. Of course, you could also just keep going straight and then you would be in Fantasyland (by the teacups).

Oh yeah! Forgot about those walkways. Duh.

We are hoping to get to Fantasyland as soon as it opens to knock out Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan. That doesn't sound too nice does it?:rotfl:

we will be going to MK on friday 5/25. i'll be staying at ASM resort. what time do the doors open to the park, because I want to get to fantasy land first too!!

:scratchin

I have yet to be able to power through the castle immediately after opening to get to Fantasyland; it's always roped off when I get there, and the rope doesn't drop as fast as the ones on the sides of the castle, IMO.

Entering from Main Street, I turn left in front of the castle, go over the bridge toward Liberty Square and immediately snake up the side walkway. It's worked every time for me, but I don't usually go when crowds get too much above average.

I'm seems to me that the fastest way is to traverse MK is to stay as close to the hub as possible.

No, not at all. But, then again, it might be just the thing to clear those lines at Dumbo for everyone. ;)
