Hi there,

What's the fastest way from Grand California to Disneyland. We already have tickets. Is monorail or walking to main gate faster?

Thanks

By far, you'll get there faster by walking to the main gate. Go out the exit by Sephora, turn right, go through security and turn left to get into Disneyland. We left IASW at midnight, slowly walked out of the park and by 12:15 we were in bed. It's that short of a walk:)

It depends on what time of the day it is...

Early morning, before parks open, I would walk out GCH to DTD and then head to the esplanade to enter through the main gates. The GCH entrance to DCA is too crowded at park opening and it takes longer. And if DCA isn't open yet, it's not an option, anyways.
Later in the morning, or if you want to see DCA on the way, go through special GCH entrance into DCA, then through the gates, across the esplanade and into DL.
Other times of the day, the monorail might be best if you plan to do some things in DTD first...but that would be my last suggestion as you have to backtrack to the monorail, compared with just entering the esplanade.

I agree with the PPs. I usually go through the GCH to DTD then to the esplanade (there are signs posted in the GCH directing you). However, there are times of the day when security/bag check lines into the esplanade are ludicrous and I end up waiting 5-10 mins to get through. At these times I wished I had gone through DCA, however, sometimes the entrance to DCA is packed and I feel like I'm swimming against the current to leave the park. There is no simple answer as to which one will be faster at any given time.

This map is labeled wrong. Where it says Downtown Disney District is actually about where the elevators are inside GCH. The Monorail Station is across from the AMC.

The shortest distance is using the stairs at the Northeast corner of the hotel, accessible from floors 3-5:

Yes, that is the fire escape staircase across from x447 and x449 with x being the floor number , lets you out between World of Disney and La Brea Bakery , but the door locks after you exit, you can`t return that way.
