Fast Passes?

Hi! We will be in DLP for the first time next week, and I have a few questions.

1.Which attractions run out of fast passes first?
2. Do I have to wait until the fast pass window opens on an initial fast pass in order to get a fast pass for a second ride?
3. Which non-fast pass rides are most popular and should be tackled at a specific time during the day?

Probably Space Mountain and Buzz, both of which are open during EMH. During EMH these are walk ons but can get wait times of 90 minutes

Crush Coaster in Studios. Advisable to be at The Studios when it opens or use single rider line
Pirates and Haunted Mansion, best to go between 10am and 11.30am or after 4pm
Autopia best to line up during EMH at around 9.45am, no fast pass, no single rider, slow loader and wait times never go below 40 minutes

What about Big Thunder Mountain BadPinkTink? This isn't open during EMH and I've definitely seen FPs run out quickly. So, it would be on 'my list' to grab a FP for early in the day as, as you say, you can EMH Buzz and SM.

Also, what's the situation with the Toy Story Parachutes in the Studios these days? I can't recall - is it FP? Do they run out quickly? I'm asking more for my benefit btw, as I can't remember and know you will (hopefully!) - thank you :thumbsup2

The OP stated that are going next week, Big Thunder Mountain is closed at the moment for refurb, as is Peter Pan, which is why I didnt mention those two. :)

I didnt do Toy Story Parachute Drop in February so I dont know about that

Oh yes, sorry, I didn't notice that and forgot BTM is closed pretty much all this year! ::yes::

I'll see if I can find out about Parachute Drop as I can't honestly remember what we did. The last time we went EMH was in the Studios for one day so we did it then which saved any wait as it's a looong wait at times for that one - very slow loading! :crazy2:

ETA - it's not a FP ride but does seem to have single rider.

TSPD has no FP but definitely has a single rider.

I believe the most critical FPs (in no order) are PPF (when open), ToT, BTM, RNRC. PPF being particularly frustrating depending on how park ops configure the FP line on your day (they split between standby and FP based upon attendance and sometimes wait is similar on both queues).

You did not ask, but Buzz, SM and Indiana Jones should be easy to get once in the day, as would Flying Carpets if FP is open (there are none of attendance is low).

Forgot about Ratatouille which is a hit or miss: still many 101s over this ride, which sometimes fill the FP quickly.

Not sure if this will be helpful, but here's some of our experience. We were in DLP March 14-16, Monday - Wednesday.

Ratatouille was out of fastpasses by 11:30am each day.
Crush's Coaster had a 40-60 minute wait every time we looked, and usually 25-35 minutes for single rider.
We rode the Parachute Drop twice using single rider. Both times were a 10 minute or less wait.
RC Racer seemed quite popular while there. Regularly 40-50 minute wait. We rode once in single rider line (posted as 15 minute wait) and ended up in the same car as the people in front of us who split off into the normal line (posted at 25 minute wait). It seats 4 across, so not many single riders get pulled per ride.

In Disneyland Park, pretty much everything stayed between 5 and 15 minute waits. With the exception of Autopia and character meets, which stayed at 40 minutes or more. Space Mountain, Buzz, and Indiana Jones would creep up to higher waits from time to time.

This may help too. Our experiences:

In Studios I queue at park opening for Parachute drop with my daughter (she's still too young for single rider) as it's a painfully slow loader otherwise. Meanwhile, husband shoots off to get Ratatouille fast passes. After Parachute drop (normally manage to get on one for the first few rides of the day) I can then jump on the single rider for RC Racer with no or very little wait, and then on to Slinky with DD. Slinky normally has lowish queues all day depending on how busy the park is, but it's a nice feeling to get all of one area done! lol

If its your type of thing, Crush is a must for early queuing - we did this another day, after VERY irritatingly missing it being open earlier on our previous day. We walked past it on the Parachute Drop queuing morning and there were people on it even though it was about 9.35 (no EMH...just ride open early!) - hardly any queue either but we had our parachute plan! lol So the other day we were in Studios we went there first and stood in a long queue for ages until it finally opened bang on 10am, and we then had another 20 min wait. :confused3 Typical eh?

Once the Rat fast pass slot starts, we can then get fast passes for TOT, the times of which can range depending on how busy the park is, but as our Rat FPs are normally for late morning, ToT have never run out of FP at that stage. But we do go when it's quiet.....

HTH!
