Fast Passes-when to use them

I was wondering with a fast pass if it says like 2pm do i have to be there then or can i go like around 5 pm when we have eaten and the kids have rested a little? I didnt know if the fast passes expire at a certain time or not

1) You should go during the time listed.
2) The time windows allow WDW to properly schedule the ride.
3) You could be prohibited from FP entry after the time posted.

People have gotten in with passes that are older than the time stated. However, there have been cases where other Diser's have been denied access. They go back 3 hours after their FP time (because they read other Diser's did it) and they can't get in. So, to cover yourself I'd only get FP's for the time's you'll be in the park.

We only used ours during the time listed, but it seemed to me that the CMs never really looked at the time other than to make sure you weren't early. On one ride, we just verbally told the CM that it was for after 10:45 and she just let us through while keeping all the people for 11:00 back (those aren't the real times, just an example).

I also found it worked well if we went back about half way through the return time - Return time is 60 minutes, so about 30 minutes. Sometimes the line can be a wee bit long right at the beginning of the return time. 30 minutes later and you can sometimes walk right on without even a small wait.
