Fast Passes returning?

The DL system works well if you're a morning person and have no problem getting to the parks first thing. On the other hand, if you like to relax and sleep late and get to the park later in the day you will find out that all the good FPs have gone. And the unpredictability of the FP times that will be available would wreak havoc on any ADR times reserved well in advance. With DL being largely a park for locals with many spur of the moment visitors, Maxpass works better there than the 30/60 day reservation system, but I would be surprised if WDW went in the same direction, especially since the 60 day window is such a powerful incentive for people to stay on property.

Doesn't mean on-site property people still can't get 1-2 day access instead of sameday -

You know what worked great? When they were testing FP+ but also had the old FP available. Lower the number of FP+ available, and have the old system up too. Then you can plan a few rides if you like, and not have a crazy long wait for the others. The new system is terrible, especially for rides such as Winnie the Pooh.

The AP perk is the cost per day is much much lower for park entry.

Which is more than made up for by the money spent on multiple visits...I have spent way more at Disney than I ever did before becoming an AP.

What is everyone’s problem with the current FP+? We get 8-10 fastpasses a day and never enter a standby queue of over 20 minutes... The DL system is inferior if you know how to use the WDW system.

I call BS on 8-10 FP+ a day. 5-6 maybe. never 8-10. at least at any time when there are actual people in the park.

Yep, nothing like scanning in and then trying to manage your phone to snag a FP while run-walking as quickly as possible through the crowds to get to the rides that don't offer FP at all at park open.

We've done it at DL a few times. It's pretty easy.

I think it depends on whether you are picky about your FP (for example, someone who only rides the major attractions) or someone willing to accept anything, so long as they don’t have to wait in line. I have never been in the parks and had zero FP available, but they might not be attractions I am interested in. So I can see getting 8-10 if you are willing to take anything offered.

Personally, I will never pay for a FP type option. If it comes down to that, I will just have to wait in standby. If paying is the only option, I guess that’s when I quit going altogether.

It’s possible, even during the busiest times of the year. If you know how the system works, it’s easy to capitalize on it.

Nothing like getting up 60 days in advance at 4am Pacific time (after doing the same thing at 180 day mark for dining), only to find out that you already can't get a FoP or RotR or Frozen fast pass for your trip. Nothing like deciding a few weeks out to add a Disney day to a Universal trip...only to find out you don't have a prayer of getting a FP for anything because they all got gobbled up by 7:01am 6 weeks ago. Magical.
