Fast Passes for Children under 3

Our family is headed to Disneyland the last week in April; and I've been counting down the days since January . I can't remember how we handled this last time we went though so I'm hoping somebody can give me a quick answer. My daughter is only 2 so we didn't need to buy her a ticket to get into the parks. I know to get the Fast Passes you have to use your ticket but since she won't have a ticket will she just be able to ride along in the fast pass lines with us? How does that all work? I couldn't find any previous threads that had answered this so any input would be greatly appreciated!

I am pretty sure you have it right. She won't need a ticket or a FP for anything... just goes with your group. Have fun!!!!

Children without a ticket (so ages 2 and under) do not need to have a FP to get into the FP attraction line with the rest of you (assuming they meet the height requirement). In terms of the FPs for the shows and character M&Gs, I would ask the CM at the machines if the 2 year old needs a FP. I know that when I went to get a FP for Anna and Elsa (when they were back in Fantasyland), the CMs issued a M&G Return Ticket for everyone in the party, including the child.

I would imagine the 2 year old is not tall enough to ride most FP rides, so it most likely isn't an issue. The only time this happened to us was Haunted Mansion Holiday- and at that time my 34 month old did not need a FP- he just went into the line with us.

Yeah I can't think of any rides aside from Haunted Mansion where a child that young can even ride a FP ride. HM fast pass won't be open in April so you won't have to use that either

The only attractions that I think might be possible for a two year old (depending on the child's height) are Roger Rabbit Car-Toon Spin (if the FP machines are on) and Autopia (32"), along with HM (though, the FP machines are rarely turned on).

The only other FP where I would check for sure is the Frozen Sing-Along. I don't know how that one works because I would have thought FP distribution was based on the number of seats in the theater, so if the child wanted to sit on their own chair, they may need a FP. That show wasn't being performed when I was last there with a 2 year old, so we didn't have to figure out that one (just the A&E M&G).

For WoC, the 2 year old did not need a FP when I was there in November, but he did need one for the A&E M&G.

Yea, but they are using FPs for more than just rides now. A&E meet, sing-a-long, WoC, Fantasmic and PFF shows. The CMs at the machines usually have extra FPs, so ask them if one is needed. The ones I think might need it are sing-a-long, PFF and the meet, since those have more of a fixed capacity. But the CMs will know the answer.

We did the Anna & Elsa M&G (in DCA) in the beginning of March and my under-3 didn't need a ticket. There was always someone manning that FP station when we were there, though, so I'd ask just to make sure.

No ticket, no fastpass (given or needed). If you've got a tall almost 3-year-old it might become relevant (my son could ride Soarin' right before age 3) and we got a few funny looks/questions, but no issues with a simple "he's under 3".

When my granddaughter was 2.5yo, she was tall enough to ride the 40" rides. I was told she DID need a FP to ride, and was told to ask the CM helping the lines. At Frozen, they manually gave her a ticket. At Racers, they added +1 on my FP and signed it. At Soarin' there wasn't a CM at the FP machines, so I went to the entrance and the gentleman added +1 after I asked.
