Did Disney change the time to select fp? I read a article that said FP window now opens at 7 am instead of midnight. Is that accurate? I had not heard this and not sure if it is true.

Correct.
That's 7AM, EASTERN Time.

I've been able to book earlier. At 6am est this morning actually.

Sounds interesting.
But, since there are so many variables, can you answer a few questions about this:
How many days until you arrive at WDW?
Are you staying at a WDW Resort?
In what time zone are you located?

I ask because there is no need to wait until any specific time to book FP+
if you are already a day or more inside your booking window.

So I was able to book this morning for 6/30 staying off site with an AP in eastern time. So I was expecting to do it at 7 but since I've been waking up every day to do it I noticed first I could do it at 6:55am so then I tried 6:40 and I happened to wake up today before my alarm at 6am so I tried and it worked.

Wait, can't you book for your entire length of stay (like you can with dining) as soon as your window opens?

Also, does this change make it earlier or later to book fastpasses?

So, for example, let's say my 60-day window opens on June 2nd.

I assume this means that at 7am Eastern on June 2nd I can start booking.
Before the change would I have been able to start at 12:00am on June 2nd (seven hours earlier)
or would I have needed to wait until 12:00am June 3rd (17 hours later)
