Fast Pass Question

We have always had excellent luck in collecting and using FP during our vacations. We collect them whenever possible and try to use them that day but save them for another day if possible. This is what we did on our last vacation in July as well. We were only rejected on our last day at Space Mountain (where the manager type replaced it with a one time MK ride one day only pass) and at RNR by a foreign worker. We told him it was our last day and no other worker really seems to care and he let us through. The person to take our FP never even looked at it twice. I would never throw a FP away. Even if one worker rejected it earlier in the week, I would have tried again. As I tell my kids, it never hurts to try and as Bawb said, "They can't hit ya!"

Here is a post (and thread) from March of this year saying that there was going to be a "new FP system" implemented in July 2008 (this past July) that would mark the end of being able to use FP "late" on the day they were issued.

Only goes to show (once again) that taking the word of a "random" CM (or two) is not always the best method of gaining accurate information.

BTW, there IS a "new FP" but it is not designed to stop "late, same-day FP use."
It is designed to curtail the use of several-day-old and counterfeit FP's at the parks.

FP question... so you collect multiple FPs by accquiring a new one each time the window "expires" and then use them at will? How many have you collected at 1 time? This is a great idea, especially if they don't enfore the return time. Thanks!

This is exactly what we do. We never miss a chance to get a new FP. DH and I collect FP's so our kids can use them in the afternoon. They use their FP's and our FP's. They are old enough to ride on their own and they are all about riding. DH and I like to ride, but not again and again.

When the kids are tired of riding, we give away the extra FP's as we're leaving the park. We usually have a couple left.

They've never been denied using a late, same day FP. If they were, they'd try again later.

FYI, Disney is making a serious effort to put an end to using fastpasses on another day, mostly to curb forgeries, etc.

New fastpasses are already being printed with the date right below the time to make it easier for the CMs to spot.

Has anyone seen the new fastpasses? I can't believe that FP forgeries are that prevalent to go to the trouble of changing all FP machines. Maybe I'm naive.:confused3

There was a post of a picture of one - I don't remember if it was here or another forum though.

All they did was rearrange the text. They did not have to replace the FP systems at all. It is simply a programming change, and a simple one at that.

But ask them to produce them so you can see them in black and white,,,,good luck...I've called them on a couple and failed to see them. ºOº

That's still a cover your as... err behind deal. There are a few things they leave vague so there isnt any real way to use it against them.. Fastpasses: yes they have a 'window' but they dont use it, unless they want / need / have to.

Magical Express luggage transfer, if you read in the 'spirit' of what they are saying, it says you need to be on the bus for your luggage to goto the resort, but, that's not how it works.

So there isnt any reason for them to 'commit' on certain things.. ;) They have good lawyers for a reason :cool1:

The one problem with very late fastpass use is that they do close the fastpass line after the last fastpass window ends, which is sometime before park close. We ran into it once, but the stand-by queue was short so it was fine.

Way back when they first tested the system in California, they used to openly tell people they did not expire.

If they have a "policy" that you are breaking,,,and you ask to see so-called "policy" and they cannot produce it,,you can go right on doing what you were doing. I talked to my lawyer friend. ºOº

Yep.

That's exactly the kind of thing a lawyer would tell someone to do.

Drums up business.

Are the rules different in Disney World vs Disneyland? when we went to Disney Land we used our fast passes past the time window all the time and never had any problems. :confused3

:welcome: to the DISboards, wmp.dll!

The rules for using FP's are pretty much the same at both DL and WDW.

If you were in a public place, that would certainly be true. You're NOT in a public place when you are in Walt Disney World, you are on their private property, and they can make the rules, and enforce them as they see fit, and they are not required to provide you with a written copy of those rules. But, go ahead, and try the method your lawyer told you to use, I'm sure it will work well for you, and it will make Disney World a much more enjoyable place for the rest of us to experience as well.

It's not only to curtail FP forgeries, but the illegal sale of FPs on Ebay. Go to Ebay search and put in Walt Disney World Fastpasses and you won't believe all of the crooks selling Fastpasses for lots of money, or should I say "plain white envelopes" that happen to have Fastpasses inside of them.

Already have,, and they haven't done a thing about it,,,including still not showing me the "policy" in question as I still do what I do while there every day. ºOº

Please enter between XX:XX and YY:YY
If entering between those times does not please you, you may enter at some other time.

Cannot accept early arrivals
The CM's may refuse to admit you if you arrive before the time window.

Also compare with reply #8:

This is my favorite ...

I did. I saw no FP's for sale. I saw a couple of Dream Fastpass's for sale. The date of use is largely written in the middle. There were plenty of FP pins but no actual FP's. I may be that EBAY no longer allows the sale of FP's due to buyer complaints when they are denied FP entry.
