Yes Fast Pass Plus is different, nobody likes to change their way of doing things, maybe change is good, maybe it's not. I'm going to go with an open mind and judge for myself.

The only problem I have encountered at this point is when I was picking my Fast Passes the website was not loading correctly and it took a long time to do. I'm sure in time, the kinks will get worked out.

I pretty much plan what park I am going to each day before I leave anyways. So now I just have to pick Fast Passes to rides I know I'm going to go on when I get there. What's the big deal with that?

I think the only people who will hate this new way of dong things are the people who don't have a detailed plan before they go.

We will see, going at spring break, I might have a differnt opinion when I get home.

And people who enjoyed getting more than 3 FPs a day. And people who enjoyed getting them for more than one headliner a day. And people who enjoyed getting them for the same attraction occasionally per day.

I hope you have a great time. :goodvibes

~Great post! You have such an awesome attitude! And, I love that you are going in with an open mind! Sharing your thoughts will definitely help others prepare for their upcoming Disney trips, too! :cool1:

~I agree that Disney still has a lot of work to do regarding Magic Bands and FP+. They have said, that they are tweaking, making adjustments and improvements. So, I'm hoping everyone gets those much desired extra fp's!

~We're commando's who like to arrive at the parks early before RD and we also make the most of our nights in the parks because it's so hot in August.

~We used to run up and down all morning from fp machine to fp machine, collecting so many fp's until they all ran out around noon. We had so many fp's that we would give them away!

~I like Magic Bands and FP+ so much better! It's quite different touring with FP+ -- if you were used to collecting fp after fp in the morning. I definitely want to do more now with the added free time. I think it's even better for those who like to sleep in! It's been a while since we've used park hoppers, so I think I'm going to add them this time.

~With the old fp, it didn't make sense to park hop, since we hoarded our fp's from the morning to use any time we wanted at night.

~Anyway, all you can do it is give it a chance! Have fun! :goodvibes

A couple, tips on best enjoying FP+...

As the PP said, for some parks, use the time to sleep in! For us, not being there early to secure a TSM FP at DHS was fabulous. I booked it in the evening and then just went to dinner at one of the restaurants there.

I would also add, if you can't secure a FP+ slot for a ride you want, check back later. I booked my selections maybe about 1 1/2 months out and EE at AK was unavailable. I tried about a week before we left and had success. Also, take a picture of your FP+ times with a screen shot on your phone. Using the app will burn your battery fast and I found it's easier to quickly pull up a photo vs loading the app.

Lastly, if you ever find that you change a FP time/experience and then all of a sudden it disappears- seek help immediately! It's highly unlikely it will magically reappear. I've had it happen on each of our two FP+ trips. First time I hoped it would come back, since the screen had said the change was successfully made. It never did and I had to call disney. After being on hold for a half hour she was able to add my ride (TT) back in but it was a good 5 hours later in the day. When it happened this week I sought assistance immediately and they were able to fix it with somewhat close times. Don't let a cast member tell you it takes a while for the system to reload. That's untrue-generally it works right away. If you go from 3 to 2 FP+ selections for the day it's a problem, no way around it.

Seriously, on all accounts.

I want everyone to have a good time, but to say you can't imagine why people wouldn't like this system ... lol.

Now I'm really confused. I thought it was only the obsessive uber-user planners who hated FP+. I thought that FP+ was supposed to be a huge playing-field-leveling benefit to non-planners who used to get no FP-.

Thank you so much I will have a great time!

Who knows, I might go and hate the new system. I just decided to keep an open mind, take my trip and then decide.

Time will tell, I guess. It hasn't been because of FP- being around and double dipping. But now that is gone...

I'm also trying to go into our upcoming trip with a positive attitude. We are also commando tourers that would run around and collect all the FPs we could throughout the day. And yes, we ended up giving away a ton of those by the end of the night.

This will change things for us, but I'm not entirely sure that's a bad thing. But we shall see :)

I would think it would really bother a person who just wants to get up day by day and go to whatever park they want without any plan. For me, I already plan my trip out to which park Im going to each day, where I'm eating at that park each day, so now I know at MK, I have 3 FP for SPACE/SPLASH AND BIG THUNDER. Sure, it would be nice to have extra FP, nobody like to wait in lines, but we usually go Spring Break so waiting in lines is sort of normal for us.

:confused3 What makes you think that?

I'm a detailed planner who has been on three separate trips using bands and I dislike this system immensley.

I can definitely see that as being an aspect that planners would like better than non-planners. The paradox, however, is that even us planners prefer to have the flexibility of deviating from the plan.

I can see your point. Time will tell if I like it or not!

I'm a planner- use crowd calenders.... I hate not being able to make real time decisions about FP. If a line is 20 minutes or less I'd rather ride. I watched many people using FP+ for non existent lines, with only 3 I would hate that. If a line is longer than I expected I want to have the option to FP it. Maybe I can make changes on the fly, but there is no guarantee of that. The line apps we had been using the last couple of trips had been the biggest help- no more running to see wait or FP return times!!!!!

I also know the tiring will be problematic for me.

I think a lot of people do have great experiences, we went in with an open mind and didn't love it. I hope you have a better experience!

We always go during Peak times, so we always have to wait for several rides. I hope it works out. Have fun on your cruise!
