My cousin is staying offsite...we want to know -

Do folks who are staying offsite have to book their fast passes 30 days out from each day of their trip or can they book all of their fast passes on day 30? Gosh, I hope that makes sense!

They also do that for Shades of Green, which is on site but not owned by Disney. It was a bit of a hassle getting up each night (or staying up) to get FP+ done at midnight for each day. However, even with a party of 10, it only took about 5 minutes. I had an idea of what FP+ we wanted at each park, the system provided 4 options within 30 seconds of logging in and selecting my options, so I picked the option that best fit into my plan for each park and for the ADRs we had each day. Of course, we like the later meals (ADRs between 7:15 and 8:30) and the parks are closed earlier the week we are going, so we had no conflicts.

I'm glad you didn't have any troubles! :woohoo: That gives me hope for my cousin. Though she does want A&E and 7DMT. We'll see.

I'm planning our first ever trip and we are staying onsite (10days!!). My cousin is going a couple weeks later and they are staying offsite. Comparing the trips I can definitely see why it's better to stay onsite. Usually, we are very "fly by the seat of our pants" so I find the planning tedious. I would find making FP reservations 30 days out stressful with my ADRs. :scared1: Planning is hard for me though and not so much for others.

Depending on the time of year, A & E and 7DMT will not likely be available 30 days out. We didn't even try for those (all 10 are adults...youngest 26...so we aren't real big on character meet and greets). We plan on doing the 7DMT on Tuesday 16 Dec during the MVMCP. Here's what we did get 30 days out:

MK: Space Mt, Splash Mt, Thunder Mt
AK: Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, Kilimanjari Safari
EPCOT: Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Journey into Imagination
HS: ToT, RnRC, Muppets 3D

The way it worked out, we didn't need to change any of our ADRs, we will see all the major shows once (Illuminations, Fantasmic, Beauty & the Beast, etc...), we are doing MVMCP and Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue.

It took some pre-planning/scheduling decisions ahead of time, but it all fit together nicely. With a smaller party, I imagine it will be even easier with a little thought before getting started.

Good Luck!!

You don't have to book one day at a time, 30 days ahead each day. Instead, you could wait until 30 days before the last day of your trip, and then you can book all days' FPs at once.

Since most of the superheadliners will be unavailable at 30 days out anyways, there is not much cost to waiting just a few extra days, if the thought of logging on at midnight for 5 days in a row seems daunting.
