Which do you recommend, fast pass for Festival of Lion King or Finding Nemo Musical?? I've never seen either of these shows and have a 8 and 5 year old. Thanks!

I hated the place where we were supposed to wait if we had a FastPass for Lion King. It wasn't a line, it was a "fill every available space" situation. It seemed like we were there for a long time. Not a good situation if you are claustrophobic or have issues being squished into a small space with a lot of other people. I know the being squished thing happens at other places at Disney World, but this time I wasn't expecting it. (Check the Fastpass return window versus the time that the show actually starts.)

I haven't seen FNtM yet, but it is only because I can't go to WDW and NOT see TFotLK. It is an amazing show!

It means you may wind up with a FP that doesn't line up with a show start time. So you may be waiting in that cramped area for an excessive amount of time.

Oh thanks! My fast pass day is next week and it's my first time booking one. I assumed that they were automatically only given for actual show start time.

As much as I hate the finding Nemo show (love the movies but the show is blah), this show is more beneficial with a FP vs Lion King.

I personally enjoy doing the Lion King FP because we like to get inside a little earlier than the standby guests and I can request what seat I want a little easier since there's less people

If you’re going to fp a show Nemo is better. FP enters first and sits closer. LK is a round theatre, and they tell you what section to sit in. That means many people who fp end up in the middle/back of a section while some standby get the front. Show up about 10mn early to avoid getting the extreme back rows of the deepest section.

Show fp start earlier than the show because they let fp in first. If you arrive after your window, they may have let standby in already which means your fp was essentially wasted.

With two young kids, depending on their heights/interests, it’s probably better to fp safari, meet favorite Disney characters (it’s typically Mickey + Minnie together), and the Dinoland ride(s).

As an example: Fastpass window is 9:30 to 9:45. Show starts at 10:00. I don't know when the doors open, but if you get there at 9:30 you may be in the "fill every available space" area for a long time.

I may be wrong, but when I made a fastpass for this in the past I don't recall the app showing what time the show started, just what time the fastpass window was. Now you see both.

There is zero reason to FP+ Lion King. You wait in a cramped area then follow a long line into the theater only to discover your seats aren't any better than if you had waited in the regular line. The Nemo FP+ gives you a better shot at better seats.

When you go to make your FP selection for either show, the FP screen will show you times, such as 9:30, 10:30, 11:30. If you were to choose the 11:30, this means your window to get in the FP line will be from 11:30-11:45, and the show is at 12:00. This information is shown once you select your time. You don't need to arrive at the beginning of your window, especially if you don't want to stand in the line for an extended period of time. Doors will open to FP at about 11:50, and to standby at about 11:55. For both shows, they tend to guide you to a specific area to sit.

If I had only one FP, I would use it on Nemo. The theater is so large, that sometimes Standby is much further back in the auditorium. With FP, you can almost choose anywhere to sit, including the upfront sections next to the walkway over the audience. The FP line is outside, so if you get there too early, you may be in the sun. The width of the queue is narrow, so even with the fill in all spaces, you don't feel like you are crammed in.

For Lion King, as others have stated, there are not any really bad seats in the house. Some sections go back a little further than others, but IMHO, all are still good seats. The FP queue area is covered, but it is a wide hallway, where they keep telling everyone to squeeze in. It can be claustrophobic.

The only risk is that if the park is EXTREMELY crowded, not all of the standby line may make it into the theater. I think this is rare, but it is a possibility.

It’s happened to us, not making it in from the Standby line, the weekend after Thanksgiving.

OP: Lion King is definitely a bigger crowd pleaser for all ages and interests, there’s so much going on all the time and the music is from the movie so all can sing along. Nemo is great too, but since the movie is not a musical, the musical numbers added will be new to you. (Oh no, now “In the big, blue world” is stuck in my head!) Honestly, I try to see both of them, they are 2 of my favorites at AK.

On a busy day - you can easily not get into FOTLK in the standby line unless you get in line early. Hence - we tend to FP FOTLK - especially if we want to see a show in the afternoon.

FP for FOTLK doesn't give you a better seat, however, yes - you can sit closer for Nemo with a FP.

Maybe its my luck - but I seem to always be able to get into Nemo in the standby line.
