How late in the day are fastpasses typically available to obtain? I know on really popular rides like Soarin they'll run out early, but on some of the other rides, are they available later in the day? For example if we arrive at one of the parks after naps around 4:00pm, are we going to be able to get FP for any of the rides? I was thinking primarily of the following:
MK
Jungle Cruise
Buzz Lightyear
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Splash Mountain
AK
Kali River Rapids
Safari
Epcot
Test Track
MGM
Rock N Roller Coaster
Star Tours

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there,

Sorry to be negative, but forget it for the following rides aftet 3pm, this was our experience last week, the parks were packed:

RnR
EE
Soarin
ToT
Peter Pan
Splash
Test Track

I agree - I wouldn't count on getting FPs that late in the day. They often run out by then. Even if you are lucky enough to get them, they "return window" could be several hours after you obtain your FPs.

You could try to get some FPs before you go back to the hotel for your break, as long as the return window is during the time when you plan to return. But you'll only be able to get one at a time.

My advice is to use FP as much as you can as early as you can, and get to the parks early to maximize your time.

I disagree with other posts. I was able to get many late fast passes on my last trip just 11 days ago and that was during spring break! Another option is to wait until the park is about to close to get in line or during a parade.

Another random data point: In the middle of January (not over the holiday weekend), just about the deadest part of the year, Soarin' was out of FastPasses by 6pm.

Last week, almost no FP were available after 2:00. You had to go to the parks early in order to use them, or stand in a really long line.

Get a FP for the safari shortly after the park opens....I was there last year and all of them had been given out by 10:00am. Be sure to get passes early for Peter Pan and Test Track pretty early. They are both gone quickly.

A couple weeks ago (spring break, so crowded), I couldn't get FPs after 3 for Soarin' and Test Track at Epcot. Also noticed no FPs for EE after about 2 at AK. I'm pretty sure the FP machines were still open at Splash and BYMRR right before the 3:00 parade at MK; I didn't notice after that. Also not sure about MGM, since we did all our FP rides in the AM. I think it's very dependent on what time of year you're there.

You didn't mention when you were going. We usually go in Sept. and occassionally they are not using the fast pass system for a few things.

At times they weren't using it for Rock n'roller coaster, tower of terror..

We just got back yesterday. The parks were PACKED!! We knew it would be busy, but here's an example....Sorin' was out of FastPasses by 11:30 a.m. :confused3 Test Track wasn't too far behind that. So...I guess it really just depends on when you are going and how busy it really is.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that we'll be at WDW from June 1-14. I figured the biggies would be out, but what about a ride like Jungle Cruise? I have that one planned for a night that we're at MK. My plan is to arrive around four after naps, get a FP for Jungle Cruise, eat dinner, then ride. I'm hoping maybe some of the less popular rides might still be available in the afternoon.

I went to AK and MGM today. I went to AK in the morning, when it opened. My DGF and I went to EE first, grabbed a FP, and then stood in line. The line was only 30 minutes. Our FP return time was 11:15. By the time we came back for our FP return time, the standbye line was 2 hours!! We got Kilamanjaro Safaris FP at 11, and the return window was 12:00. We did quite a bit of AK, or at least what we wanted to do, then left around 2. We then went to MGM, the stand by line was 80 minutes for RNRC, and there were no more FP. Needless to say, we didn't ride it today, as I didn't want to stand in line for 80 minutes. We just got AP's so we know we will be back again some time in the near future. But, FP seemed to be out on alot of rides in MGM by the time we got there. We ended up just doing the Great Movie Ride and Muppets 3-D, and then headed home, as we were getting tired, and had dinner plans. By the way, Animal Kingdom (this was the first time I had been there since it opened) and E:E was FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!! I have bolted AK above MGM on my list of favorites with MK holding the top spot. Tomorrow, I am going to give Epcot a day to see where it stands on the list. I haven't been to the World Showcase in years, so I can't wait for that, as well as riding Soarin for the first time.
