So the older I get the less I wear shorts. I absolutely love capris though. Now at the parks I really want to keep my feet happy by wearing athletic shoes. Capris and athletic shoes? What do you think?

I wear them every day for work so I don't see a problem with it. Fashion has no place in a world of walking in the heat and getting sticky with Mickey bars.

I was at Sears last weekend and an older woman was there with her husband and she wanted some comfortable shoes to wear and "to walk in". She was looking at sketchers. I had to stop myself from laughing out loud when the husband said "those will match your gray walking pants, you should get them" and she responded" but they don't match my beige shorts so I can't wear them and I need walking shoe"s. So funny to me. Being that obsessed with matching the outfit is not in my lifestyle.

Please be comfortable wearing anything on your feet with capris.

That is funny. I am not really a fashion queen I spend all my money on making my kids fashion king and queen LOL! Anyway, I just don't want to be the person in the background of some strangers picture in some far away state being made fun of for my tennis shoes and capri pants. I guess what I don't know won't hurt me;)

lol I hope it doesnt look bad because I wear capris with sneakers almost everyday. ;)

Good to know. I usually wear sandals but I am gonna go for it and proudly wear my athletic shoes with my capris this trip

I usually wear sandals in warm weather, but for a lot of walking I have no problem with tennis shoes in capris or even shorts.

I've done it a bunch of times at WDW. You will see a bunch of other people doing it too. No one is going to laugh at you. It's all about preserving your feet for all that walking at WDW! Now if you want to keep your feet happy, but really don't want to wear athletic shoes, you might want to take a look at Bernie Mevs. I'm not really an athletic shoes girl. I only wear them to work out, and at WDW. Last summer I discovered Bernie Mevs (I like the comfi). They are the most comfortable walking shoe I've ever owned. They run a little small. I have a wider foot and I go up a size in them. I wore them in the parks from open to close two months ago, and my feet weren't even tired at the end of the day. I will note that you need to wear them around a little bit for a day before using them for an all day excursion because the first day you wear them the strap will be a little tight after awhile. By the second day, it will have stretched and molded to your foot and will feel great. We only have one store that carries them around here, and the manager told me that they quickly became their best selling shoes ever and that they have to constantly restock to the point where at that time they were getting shipments of them once a week. My athletic shoes are now relegated to working out. No more athletic shoes and socks with capris at WDW for me!

Wear what you would be comfortable in. It is alot of walking and you really don't want to be miserable - besides, you'll probablty never see any of these people again so who cares. Do what is best for you. I see capris and sneakers all the time. If want to wear them go ahead, if you want sandals some have little or no support so you might look good but you would be uncomfortable so be careful on your choice.

There are certain "athletic" shoes that they make more stylish looking that I think are more acceptable with capries. But If thats the only thing thats comfortable for walking around the parks I say go for it!. I've never been the type of girl who wears high heals to the state fair anyway =)

As long as the capris are very casual/ athletic you will look fine. It's the mixing of styles that doesn't look right.

:)I pretty much wear my tennis shoes with any outfit outside of dinner clothes while at Disney. I have some Clark sandals but my tennis are the ole reliable.

I agree with this. I woudn't wear tennis shoes with nicer capris but sporty ones I definitely would.

Last year I wore capris and my Clarks shoe/sneaker...if my back isn't happy neither am I..
I dress for comfort. Capris are better to sit on a bench or chair, cause it's hot and sweaty in August and by wearing capris my legs don't stick:) Good luck with whatever you decide...
