Fashion Question??

I want to get a jacket that is nicer than a hoodie -but casual.
I am short and a little overweight. I have been feeling like I look dumpy.
Do I need a long or a short jacket?

Any other thoughts?

On What Not to Wear they'd probably put you in something ending between the lowest part of your waist and the top of your hip/hipbone. Anything longer will make you look shorter and if you look shorter, you look heavier. Also nothing boxy - structured will slim you down also.
