Fashion Bullies

People definitely are, but I've never seen it first hand.

People at my school, if they're going ot make fun of you, they'll do it behind your back where you can't see it. A lot of the time you'll never know.
And the behind the back thing, it's usually people just discussing to their friends about why they don't like your clothes.
My school is kind of a friendly, very spirited school, that isn't really into being mean or whatever.

I wear a uniform...so on dress down days...you better be wearing the "right" clothes.

I have never conformed with that rule. I am not a huge fan of amercrombie, hollister, or A&E for my everyday clothes.

I think, now that I am an upperclassmen, I am too intimidating to be bullied. I dont care if someone doesn't like my clothes...but I see it (and remember) in the freshmen class.

They still have that "middle school" you-have-to-be-popular attitude. (not all, but a lot of them) And its sad. I wish they could see past the clothes and talk to the person!

My school has uniform so we can't really make fun of people clothes.. not that I would ever. :) ;)

But yes, outside of school there are people who get bullied for the way they dress, honestly if they want to be unique I have no problem with it.
But I HATE when boys wear capris.. ew.

About the article:

Anyone who makes fun of her for having designer stuff is totally rude.. like she is working hard to look nice but they're like trying to bring her down. That's wrong. People focus too much on how you look rather than what kind of person you are. :sad2:

I Love Fashion, im sure people on this board know that, but its so mean to make fun of people for what they wear. I Love to look good but things nowadays are expensive, so people shouldnt make fun of other people who dont dress as well. I know I have my off days. But thats no reason for someone to be bullied, when Im a fashion designer im going to make sure to express that. :teeth:
^^^hmmm would I classify this as a rant?

well not really bullying IDT. Me and my friends just look at some people and will run across someone that is just. WOW (in a what were they thinking way)

um......the second one :teeth:

(This is not only directed to you..)
Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you should tease them. Just because they might not have designer clothes doesn't mean you should make fun of them. Just because they don't dress like you doesn't mean you should bully them.
Basically it's on the inside that counts & if you don't know that by high school you'll be sorry. :)

I think everyone did that at least a couple times in middle school.. butyou learn the hard way when to stop.

I understand what your saying(angelindiguise), if you see someone whos outfit is just out there you cant help but share your thoughts. Its bad if you say it to someones face though.

I wear forever21 and delias and just because i dont wear hollister and ambercombie and AE *because they are way too expensive for what it is*
people dont talk to me or even give me the time of day because i dont have some crummy shirt that has "Hollister" plastered all over it that costed 25 dollars but its a normal t-shirt

Sorry if i offended everyone...
but thats how i see it

Im sorry people don't treat you the right way because of your clothes. (BTW I love Forever 21 and Delias!!)

I think middle school, and even high school, girls care way too much about their looks. Its sad that what is "acceptable" is the same, non-origional, outfit that the girl next to you is wearing.
Isnt this the time where we should be harvesting our own identities? How can we know who we are, when we are coppying the people next to us? Are some people natural followers? Do they not have enough self confidence to act as their own person?

And to the bullies (I am not attacking youAngelInDisguise ,this is general to ALL bullies): How dare you look down on someone who has enough guts and will power to start finding their own identity. Look back, twenty years from now, and see if it matters who wore Hollister or Abercrombie.

My prediction is, it wont matter in the least

Please, please please, if you are bullying others about their looks to please STOP now. It isn't cool, and it doesn't give you anything to say to someone they look ugly. Who are you to judge? I'm sure others could find your own faults. And I know you wouldn't want to them to be called out so don't do it to others. Its childish and immature. Clothes are clothes. :)

I wear all designer clothes. they are my security blanket and I know nobody will mess with me. I am defined by it.

Ok sorry but would all rather be talked about behind your back where the whole school is talking about you and you haven't got a clue or be told to your face and fix the problem? just something to ponder...

Just because someone is making fun of you, doesn't mean there is a problem.
I mean, yes you could be dressing awfully, but you might just be dressing awfully TO THE PERSON WHO'S MAKING FUN OF YOU.
Just because I hate the pockets of some girls jeans, doesn't mean she has a clothing problem. Maybe she likes them.

Some people don't know what they're wearing isn't stylish, but they don't care either because they like it. It's theirs.

How someone dresses, should be on how they want to dress, not how someone else wants them to dress.

Honestly, its an unspoken deal in our school.
I mean, no one makes fun of people that don't wear expensive clothes, but they generally don't seem to be popular, maybe because of this?

In middle school it was a BIG deal. I dragged my mom to Hollister and Abercrombie and all that, because I felt I needed to wear it to be accepted.
Again, it wasn't talked down about, it was just kind of expected.

Now I don't care. My favorite store is Forever 21, and I brag to people about how cheap my clothes are.
I still buy jeans at AE and Hollister, because I like the way they fit my body.

But, I mean, people still wear that stuff a lot. I wear some of the sweaters and things I bought from there in middle school, because it would be dumb not to.
But I'm actually embarrased now to wear the logo tees. I don't know, it's just too... dumb.

Sorry, it kind of contradicts itself, but it is what it is.

I don't like logo, like anything.

I'll see a girl wearing a shirt that says like American Eagle plastered across it, and then she's wearing pants that say 'Team Pink' or ABERCROMBIE & FITCH in big bold letters.
I think it looks kind of stupid to mix all the logos together..
Or wear clothes that all have the same brand logo on them, then you look like a walking ad.

I wear Hollister & abercrombie sometimes, but not because 'everyone' wheres its thats the kind of clothes I like, people always think that people wear those brands because everyone else does, but thats not really true.

middle school yes.. highschool, not as much... college, none... i wear my jammies to school sometimes, and i love it lol
