FarmVILLE on Facebook

I need about 6 more neighbors so I can enlarge my farm. I am out of requests. Can some of you add me?

Don Mania on facebook. Thanks!

Have we tried posting links here that are normally only visible to friends and neighbors? Would it work?

For example, this is a link to "Give Item to" me, I guess after requesting a Gold Bear or Bar or something.

Give it a try. If it works, maybe we can post them here and help each other out.

:confused3

Did it!! Hope it worked for you!! :goodvibes

Sent you a gift. Here's mine if anyone is interested (don't know if it will work).

Was on FV. Suddenly got a message to refresh because FV has been updated. And guess what -- NOTHING. No new prizes for coins, no new seeds/decorations/puppies. NOTHING. What is taking so long? :confused3

I'm always getting the out of synch message. Which means I just lost my gift or the spent coins from planting or harvesting....

I am a farmville addict! I just started not too long ago because I kept getting invites and got sick of ignoring them. So I tried it and liked it!! I am level 28 right now and keep moving up. I am also a Zoo World addict and play some others here and there. My name is Katie Alley-Madore on FB, feel free to add me if you want neighbors!! :)

Seriously?

Have you ever been a professional software developer? :goodvibes

Those of us who are not computer geeks (whoops, I mean professional software developer) really don't have a clue. :lovestruc :worship:

Many of us forget the game is a work in progress, that it's being developed as we play. :headache:

Having said that, I sure hope that if they are planning something for the Easter holiday, that they're working on it now, along with the remaining St. Patty's Day stuff so we don't have to wait to know what we're hoarding our eggs (maybe?) for. :yay:

Hehe.... it's remarkable, to me, sometimes, how often my sales engineers will say, "I didn't think to pass that customer request on to you because it sounded like it would take way too long to implement to be worthwhile," for things that took me two minutes to slip into a release, and how often my sales engineers will think, "That shouldn't take that long to put in," for enhancements that are either exceedingly complex or outright infeasible.

A good rule of thumb is that stuff that you want that software doesn't provide are things that are either really hard/costly to provide, and/or things that really very few people care about.

Very true... many of the players forget that they're all beta testers.

Obviously the answer is no, but I would have assumed if they were going to roll out the St. Paddy's day stuff, it would have been ready. Why not just wait a few more days until the entire packet is complete, instead of piecemeal? :confused3

Two things: First, remember that the Winter Games stuff came out almost a whole week after the Olympics started. There were problems, and that prevented them from putting that stuff out "on time". So they will indeed delay introductions if necessary. Second, beyond the technical, another major contributor to the timing of the introduction of features is marketing. As alluded to earlier, there were PR issues with how the Valentine bonuses were introduced, and so our best info is that the delay in the introduction of the second-tier of St. Patrick's Day bonuses is a deliberate, marketing decision, aimed at having something to make a big deal about this coming week.

Guess it's all a matter of perspective. I wondered why they bothered to even have Olympics stuff because it was so late in coming. As for PR, for as addictive as FV is (and I believe it's also the #1 game on the internet), I can't imagine they worry about keeping everyone playing. It's like crack -- I couldn't walk away if I wanted to. Since I don't follow the FV podcast (or boards, or whatever they have), I don't know about all these issues and problems. All I know is I WANT MORE! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Guess I'll just have to wait patiently until the powers that be decide I need another dose of FV.

Absolutely: The more you know, the less strange and unclear things seem.

Think of a big cruise ship, cruising into port, once you've gone a certain distance into the harbor, you really have no choice but to dock, and then wait to turn around and go back out the sea. You can't just decide midway through that you don't want to dock, and just turn on a dime.

You're their ideal, and really they don't worry about keeping folks like you playing (and so, as a result, their decisions about what they do probably don't reflect what's necessarily best from your perspective -- generally, companies worry least about their customers who are least likely to stop being customers regardless of what they do). I know from my neighbors that that's not typical. About half of my current neighbors have barren farms, with all their trees and animals waiting to be harvested. It is clear that they haven't visited their farms in weeks.

Guess I'll just have to wait patiently until the powers that be decide I need another dose of FV.
:thumbsup2

I was away for the weekend and just logged into FV this morning (first time since last Thursday) and I don't have a 'pot of gold' to put my gold in!!! There was none in my giftbox. Is there anything I can do?

You can buy one in the Market for 1 coin. :)

Do you know where in the market please? I can't seem to find it!

ETA: I just found it! It's under BUILDINGS! That doesn't make sense!

Thanks so much sorcerormickey!!
