Who are the random people you do not know that just stand in your farm? Why are they there? I have had two people in my farm that just stood there for quite a while..

At the top of the page Click My Neighbors. If you have neighbors it sometimes says Susie's farm needs raked, watered or weeded. Simply click the I'll help box, it will take you to Susie's farm, again click the appropriate message that says yes I'll water or rake or weed. This costs you like 15 coins to buy either rake, hose, or gloves that are good for a few uses and will make you back more than the 15 coins you spent. And it gives you points for trophies and gets you closer to the next level. Try to visit all your friends twice a day.

Just search for Farmtown DISers and it'll show up for you. Its wide open anybody can join. Its fun.

FYI, Im on for the duration tonight till i hit the sack whenever that is, so if anybody needs harvesting just come over to Octoberbride03's farm. I'll have my own grapes crop ready to go round about 9:30ish. Good sized crop tonight too.

I just requested you to be friends. I don't want you to think I'm a stalker or anything. I just want some neighbors! I'll be harvesting grapes tonight to. I think I'm at 70% right now/

Once you get to a certain level you can upgrade your farm by going to the real estate office. I think the first upgrade is at about level 17 and the last is at either 23 or 25. It is expensive - like 80,000 coins - to get a bigger farm.

You can stack your trees tightly together if you group them by like trees (all apple trees together, all pear trees together, etc..). You can also sell them off for coins at a certain level (not sure what that is).

you need levels and money. I think level 15 is first upgrade available. click the map and it'll show a real estate box. click that and it'll show you the upgrades.
I still have a few levels to go b4 my first upgrade.

After all that stuff I posted above I forgot to ask my question

When we are on FB can we "hide" or do we always show in the chat list at the bottom of the page? I know when I used to have ICQ we could "show to all" or we could "show to specific friends" or we could be totally hidden. I have one friend (not a farmtown nor DIS'r friend that everytime I'm on she wants to chat the whole time. I don't want to hurt her feelings but dang, it would be nice to be able to pop in and check my farm or pop in to check my messages.

If you work in full-screen mode, chat is disabled. That's the icon to the right of the chat/neighbor screen and next to the magnifying glasses.

You can also work offline if you click on the power plug in the upper right screen.

I joined the Dis Farmtown group, but now I can't find any of you in Farmtown! Do we have to be FB friends to hire each other for harvesting and for gifts? How do I find you all when I'm in Farmtown? I had a (small) harvest today and ended up hiring a stranger from the marketplace but I would have hired a Diser if I knew how to do so.

I'm still learning the ropes but am having fun. I'm hoping to get to a level where I can buy more land to expand my farm sometime. My farm is pretty simple. My farmer is homeless and my critters are running wild , but someday I hope to have a little house and some fences.

Questions: I have some neighbors and understand I can visit them easily. What exactly is a Buddy List and how do you use it? TIA!

Neighbors are your facebook friends. Add the people in the DIS Farmtown group, then request you become neighbors.

The Buddy list is for those people you meet on FT with whom you have a good relationship--whether it's chatty or simply a win-win with the harvesting--that you want to keep in mind for harvests, but without becoming FB friends. You'll be able to send messages and visit each others' farms.

In general, I look to see if any of my neighbors are on when I have a crop. If not, then I got to my Buddy list and last to the marketplace. The problem with the Buddy list--or at least my Buddy list--is that it doesn't show me who's online. I have to visit their farms. At least it keeps me out of the market.

Oh, and be warned. Some people want to Buddy with you so you'll give them work, but they never return the favor. Don't feel obligated to keep them on your list--bulldoze at will.

Also, if you accept email notifications to tell you when your farm has been tended by your neighbors, you can visit your neighbors' farms to return the favor. You can open that link three separate times, for 15 coins and 6XP each. Easy money for farming and a lot of XP for little work.

You can get people from the marketplace , they just have to click on you and click on tend/visit farm. But some just show up from nowhere, not sure how that happens

I read somewhere, and I'm not sure that this is true, that you can reduce the number of ghosts by clicking on the "play" button instead of the "go home" button. And man, do the ghosts make me uncomfortable. Like something out of Children of the Corn or a Stephen King novel.

once you get 8 neighbors you can sell anything. I've sold a bunch of my gifts, including trees. I just don't have as much room as I'd like right now for all the gifts I've gotten. I made a little orchard tonight, and you really can group the trees pretty tight. Though if you plan on harvesting them it could get a smidge difficult. I harvest mine at the moment cause I need all the coin i can get. Might not later but for now, everything harvestable gets sold.

what kills me is because the game is still Beta there are lots of glitches. I had 8 neighbors for at least 3 days b4 the game finally acknowledged them. So beware that having 8 neighbors means the game actually lets have those 8 neighbors
