Just finally got fully addicted to farmtown and comfortable planting crops and had tons to harvest tonight. I will lose so much money if this isn't fixed in the next half-hour before I have to go to bed. I don't have the little F in my bookmarks or anything either. I'm so frustrated!

Wow. Glad I got all my harvesting and replanting done early last night- my whole farm had to be plowed and planted.

I have a couple questions for the experts...
Is there a secret to harvesting quickly??? When I harvest, I seem to spend more time walking around in circles. And it seems to take me forever. Same for plowing and planting. I had someone harvest a whole field of grapes for me today. They were done in about 5 minutes. It would have taken me at least 10. If there is a secret, please someone let me know.

And, when you hire someone to harvest, do you have to stay at the farm with them? With the grape harvest today, there were other things I wanted to do. But didn't know if I could leave my farm.

I dont know about leaving your farm but I do leave my computer and do other stuff while people are doing my crops.. so if you say something to me and i do not answer.. sorry kiddies probably call!

If someone is harvesting a large crop I usually start plowing while they are working.

I am not sure if you can leave your farm and go somewhere else in Farmtown or FB while they are harvesting or if you lose your connection.

Not really a secret....maybe more of a helpful hint. I've noticed if you stay in a straight line & harvest from top to bottom and left to right - then my person doesn't really move much. I can harvest the whole row without moving at all.

Yes, you can leave while they harvest. But, the crops they harvest won't show up in storage until you leave Farmtown & come back in. Not Sure why??

Just joined Farmtown a few days ago after DW had been in it for a few weeks. Up to level 10 or 11 now, I think. A few annoying quirks, but still fun and more interactive than most Facebook games (of which I play at least two dozen!).

While in the market strike up a conversation - ask people where they are from, what their favorite crop or building is etc. you will be amazed at the results. DO NOT BEG. In the forum rules of etiquette the founders of FT ask players to not beg and to not hire those that do.
Remind the marketplace visitors to use their ignore options. If the room is just full of beggars, return to your farm and then back to a new marketplace and try again.
I have made hundreds of thousand in coin by harvesting for others. I had one job that was the largest plot and it was wall to wall pumpkins! Score!

I'm so dense! I never realized there were different marketplaces. I lost a worker one night and went back to re-hire her but I couldn't find her.

send me turkey's people! I need turkeys! lol I was all excited when I saw all the new stuff!

Adding turkeys to my Helene list for tomorrow as I think I sent everyone on my list a plum tree today.

I found today if I watered a friends flowers, I got coins! If I water my own flowers it costs coins. I tried watering a FB friends flowers that is not yet a FT friend and it wouldn't let me. Once the flowers bloom we can freeze them while they are pretty.

I also found I can sell trees and animals if I get too many.

After all that stuff I posted above I forgot to ask my question

When we are on FB can we "hide" or do we always show in the chat list at the bottom of the page? I know when I used to have ICQ we could "show to all" or we could "show to specific friends" or we could be totally hidden. I have one friend (not a farmtown nor DIS'r friend that everytime I'm on she wants to chat the whole time. I don't want to hurt her feelings but dang, it would be nice to be able to pop in and check my farm or pop in to check my messages.

I've also done a few potatoes and planted some other items but I think I should have waited for those sense they take a couple of days to ripe. I guess I'll go and read this thread and take some notes. If anyone wants to be my friend or neighbor let me know. That would be cool!

How do I join the DISers Farmtown Group? I just started playing Farmtown in the past few days and I am not sure I am doing too well. It is very addicting!

Just search for Farmtown DISers and it'll show up for you. Its wide open anybody can join. Its fun.

FYI, Im on for the duration tonight till i hit the sack whenever that is, so if anybody needs harvesting just come over to Octoberbride03's farm. I'll have my own grapes crop ready to go round about 9:30ish. Good sized crop tonight too.

I joined the Dis Farmtown group, but now I can't find any of you in Farmtown! Do we have to be FB friends to hire each other for harvesting and for gifts? How do I find you all when I'm in Farmtown? I had a (small) harvest today and ended up hiring a stranger from the marketplace but I would have hired a Diser if I knew how to do so.

I'm still learning the ropes but am having fun. I'm hoping to get to a level where I can buy more land to expand my farm sometime. My farm is pretty simple. My farmer is homeless and my critters are running wild , but someday I hope to have a little house and some fences.

Questions: I have some neighbors and understand I can visit them easily. What exactly is a Buddy List and how do you use it? TIA!
