FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

I had a strange thing happen when using my credits at the Flame Tree BBQ. I was trying to buy three adult and two child counter service meals. The cashier told me that I could only get 2 adult and 2 child meals based on my card. The third adult meal was for my mom whose credits were not pooled with ours.

It seemed strange that I could just as easily pay for the 2 adult and 2 kids meals and get back in line and order another adult meal without any problems.

It wasn't an issue at any other counter service - just Flame Tree BBQ. Anyway, I used my mom's card to "pay" for the other adult meal.

For our stay (7/30-8/06), there was no other distinguishing between adult and child credits. The printouts we got from the resort front desk only showed the total number of credits left and had nothing about adult or child only credits.

Thanks for the info! Do you guys know where the cheapest TS meal would be for a family of 4? If I'm paying OOP, I want to make sure I do so at a cheap place and use my dining plan at the expensive ones. I'm talking my hubby into spendning a fortune on this trip and every dime I save will help him to have more fun! (Therefore improving the whole trip for the rest of the family :-) as well!) SO, if there are any cheap TS meals, please fill me in! TIA ;)

Mommyoeo...Have you looked over the menues and prices on "allears"? That may be a good place to check...that way you can see the menu items at all TS meals and the prices. Just about all the TS places have reasonable child meals...(5.99)..but with out a drink and/or dessert. I think your best best would be to pay oop at buffet places...that way your looking at a flat rate per person.....no suprises...and it includes all the food, beverage and dessert.

We have decided to share meals at TS places to "spread" our credits out more. DH and myself will share while both DD's share. We figure with the amount of food we will be getting at each place (Appitizer, entree, beverage and dessert)...we should have PLENTY to share. Of course we may have to purchase an extra beverage or two...

I have a questin for those of you are saving credits. What are you saving them for? We were thinking of sharing meals because of the amount of food, but I would have so many unused credits at the end. Am I missing something??

This is strange, because I have an email from Disney saying that I can use my credits to treat some guests that will be visiting us at WDW.

We are saving our credits...so we can go to more sit down places. Were only at WDW for three days..So that means three TS credits per person.....but by sharing and "saving" our credits...we were able to make ADR for dinner the night we arrive, breakfast the next morning, dinner that night, dinner the following night...and either lunch one day or breakfast the day were leaving. Plus by not totally stuffing ourselves at each meal...I think we'll enjoy the day more.

Thank you for your answers, I knew I was missing someting.

When we went in July, we treated my father and his wife to two CS meals each. We treated them at Pecos Bill and Pizza Planet. I actually expected the CM to give me a hard time both times, but there was not even a hint of them questioning it. Sorry that you weren't able to do that at FTBQ, NYBOUND.

I so wish Disney would be consistent with the Dining Plan.

This may have been asked already but....
Can you use your credits for the meal when you book the Fanstasmic pkg?

:cool1: :cheer2:

I checked when making my ADR - and they do not allow in the system. Now - if the server takes mercy on you for left over packages not used... Pixie dust may help. DD, DW and I are eating at Mama Melrose and hoping DD (3) puts on the charm and wins it over.

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :Pinkbounc
22 days and counting!!!

This may have been asked already, but I could not seem to find an answer in this thread......If you have say a soda with your TS meal, and want coffee with dessert, I assume you have to pay for it, is that correct??..any info is helpful..thanks.... :sunny:

Blueberry, after dinner coffee is included in many TS meals.

I didn't have a TS meal where I was told that coffee was not included (and led to a latte addiction by the end of the week :earseek: ). All of the servers we had were very good about letting us know what was included in the meal plan.

I saw some references to an excel file someone created.
Anyone know which page its on out of the 40 something pages?

Thanks a bunch,
Connie

Try one of the 1st 10 pages, I just read it too, and I started from the begining. Good Luck!!

We ate at O'hana and the dessert is pineapple with carmel sauce. If you want another dessert, it does cost extra. We did get extra and I don't think we will let the kids get the snow cone in a bucket again. They were extra large and none was able to finish them. That includes our 15 year old son who is 6' tall and 215 lbs that plays football (lineman) and can put the hurting on people. (he's really a big teddybear who plays well. He cried at Wishes....what can I say?)

hello - This is my first post.

Im reading about DDE, and althought I think I saw you did NOT have to be a florida resident or AP (annual passholder?) ...when I called the number...

Welcome to the Dis. You do have to be one or the other, AP holder or Fl resident.

We will be using the free dining plan for our 3 night stay. For the two of us, we will have 6 TS credits, however we would like to use them at a couple of signature restaurants (Artist Pointe and Yachtsman Steakhouse). Can anyone tell me if we can exchange our snack/counter service points for these restaurants to make up the 2 point difference? I would rather pay cash for a counter service meal and use the points for finer dining.
