FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

I think they are about $5, my DH and I both got mixed drink at Prime Time
and they were $9 each, and my DS got a sprite at Sci-Fi with the cubes and I think it was approx $5.........the cubes can last for a couple of years according to the waitress.

Yes you do need to ask for the cubes. My DH asked if we could purchase
separately. Sure no problem @ $4 a cube. It would be cheaper to buy the
drink. They come in green, blue, red. The drinks come with 2 cubes.

Wendy,

Just to answer your second question, I am sure each bag of pretzels will count as a snack, so 2 bags=2 snacks!

It would be interesting to pose this question as its own thread and see what the experiences are of others who have recently used the dining plan at Ohana. I would think there would be a lot of angry people if that were to be the case. What happens if you don't like pineapple or caramel? :confused3

I agree this really is not fair! :sad2:

Oh. My. Goodness. I am literally LMAO :rotfl2:.

I'm glad I was drinking white wine and not coffee.

I'm becoming slightly mind-numbed by the number of questions, particularly those regarding what counts as a snack, what counts as a drink, etc. Doesn't the resort give you something when you check in that explains all this? And if they do, is it not very comprehensive?

Go to the very first post on this thread and there is a PDF that is exactly what the resort gives you when you check in. That should help :).

Does anyone know if they base the meal credits on the ages on the reservation or if they do that when you are at the resort? I'm wondering because I want my 11 yr old to be able to choose adult meals if he wants since he's an adult for Disney dining but he doesn't look at all like he's 11. I'll have his Military ID with us so if there's a doubt about his age we can clear it up. I'm just wondering if I'll need to be prepared to do that at the resort because if they look at him, he looks about 8. I made the ressie with his correct age, but when we went in March he got stopped at the entrance of Epcot because they didn't think he should have an adult type ticket. He's pretty self conscious about his size now, unless he's playing a game at Great America and he wins the prize when they guess he's much younger than he is or weighs alot more than he does. Does anyone have experience with this? TIA for any suggestions.

I had a similar thing happen to me when my DD was just 3. The CM waved us in, trying to be nice, but I insisted on putting her pass through the machine. It was an AP so we were not losing a day on a pass and once her pass was activated we could use it in a FASTPASS machine ;).

Since they pool all the credits, I don't think you'll have too much of a problem. Just make sure you have his age on every AR you make in case the server checks it in advance. He'll also get an adult menu and not kids menu because of his age. I don't think the servers will question you because their tip is based on the amount spent. An adult meal is more than a child's meal and they get a bigger tip. I would also explain in advance to him that a server (like the EPCOT CM) may think that he's younger than 11, but it shouldn't be a big deal. I wouldn't carry his Dependent ID ... you won't need it and it's a PITA to replace.

The counter service people don't care what you order :).

Don't know if this was asked yet. I looked through a lot of the pages and my head started going numb. Anyway...Can you use your Dining Plan for the Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Disney reservation CMs say you can't but many people have done it.

Well when we go I will give it a try. Can't hurt I guess. I don't think it's fair that you can't use it for that. The resturants that you can go to for the Fantasmic Dinner Package are resturants that are included in the dining plan. It doesn't make sense. Oh well.

Okay my head is ready to explode. I just went through all the pages.UGH!!! I have another question though about the Main Street Bakery...It's listed as CS and Snack. We are planning to grab something for breakfast there on our last day...Say we got the hot french toast loaf and a coffee...would that be considered a CS meal or what?

Yes, it would be a CS meal. The "snacks" are very limited.

Do you get a receipt each time you use the plan, and does it include your available credit total? I will have 6 people's credits to keep track of! :scared1:

We're going in Oct. along with our 2 year old.We have the free dining plan. since there is no admission charge for under 3 yrs-- at the parks or additional room charges. It was my understanding that he would would not need or be getting the dining plan. I was told he would be expected to share our meals. Is this true for character meals as well? or is there a charge for all persons regardless of age--for the 'experience"?? It lists on the menu on allears a specific childrens price --for kids 3-9 yrs. So are under 3 kids free or not? Is this right or should we be getting a dining plan for our DS( not that he needs it--he doesn't eat much) But if we had the dining plan for him as well we could use extra credits for snacks ...counter...Very confusing?
