FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

Okay, I am just bumping to keep at the top. This board is getting hit with repeat questions answered in this thread.

:wizard: Wishing for a sticky :wizard:
especially since the "Links to Spotlight Reviews** UPDATED AS OF 5-27-03... REALLY!" has one and the links do not work!

Just a quick question - I would think that it would be more adventageous to pay for breakfast yourself, and use the cs and ts for lunch and dinner? Is there any advantage to using the cs or ts credit for breakfast (other than character meals)?

Some people like to use the TS for a real late breakfast, turning into a lunch really.

I agree with you. We plan on eating only two character breakfasts, and the rest of the time we will eat in our room. We will use our CS meals for lunch and sit downs for dinner.

We used two TS for a "late breakfast" that substituted for lunch. We did use a couple CS for breakfast b/c we shared some CS during the week b/c there was just too much food!

:wizard: A Sticky would be nice :wizard:

This is my most favorite thread right now :cheer2:

On our first trip we only ate at CS and PSB & CRT breakfasts. Can you please tell me which of the TS restaurants we couldn't go to dressed in park attire (t-shirts & shorts or jeans)?

Victoria & Albert's has a "dress code".

What does this mean? I haven't been here long enough to understand what you are talking about. And what do you mean when you say "I am just bumping to keep at the top"?

A sticky means that it will stay on the first page permanently. "I am just bumping to keep at the top" means keeping this thread on the first page, like bumping it from whatever page it was on. Hope I explained those ok.

The threads move to the top of the list every time there is a new post. If it is made sticky it will stay there no matter what, but for now we have to keep it at the top by posting to it.
A few more terms for you:
HTH= hope that helps
TIA= Thanks in advance

There are more, and not everyone uses them...

I'm assuming the dining plan is linked to your resort room card? Is that right?

Also, I read a few reports that there are errors that occur on the dining program like getting charged more table service meals than those in your party for a meal. Example, a party of 4 gets charged for 5 meals. If you don't catch it; it's your loss. Where is this info to check every time you do it? Does it appear on a receipt of some kind at the restaurant? Do you have to get a report from the resort showing your credits, etc?

Thanks for the info!

You will be presented with a bill at the end of your meal. Just give them your card and tell them you are using the dining plan. They will give you a printout of what they "charged" you for so you can check it over before you sign it. At the end of your stay, you will be given a statement of all the meals you purchased during your stay. You will always get a chance to check it over b/4 you sign it though. If there is a mistake, just make it known at the time and they can fix it for you.

I've been looking over the menus and would like to try The Yachtsman's Steakhouse for our anniversary on 10/4 ( I know that it would be 2 ts credits for each of us) - would the $50+ surf and turf plate be allowed on the dining plan? Seems too good to be true?????

I am also wondering if you can add the lobster to another dish as it offers on the YS menu and have that count on the dining plan?
