FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

Yes, you have them the moment you check in. So you would have seven days to use your credits.

Most people check in at 3 pm. So you get dinner that night on the plan. Than they stay and the last day they check out at 11 am. That day they eat breakfast and lunch, then they either fly or drive home by dinner. SO, you are getting dinner first night, and breakfast/lunch the last day, and it all works out.

Based on what I've been reading, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but since my question hasn't been asked specifically, I feel I'd better ask it and risk looking like a fool on the Boards rather than looking like a fool while sitting at a table in Le Cellier.

I think I read that the plan costs $35 per adult, per day. And I know that means you get one table service, one counter service and one snack per adult, per day (although I know you can use two table service credits in one single day, etc.). I just want to be sure that I'm not limited to $35 a day. In other words, I could use a table service credit for lunch at LeCellier and run up a $30 bill, and then use another table service credit for dinner at SciFi and run up a $40 bill, plus use my snack credit for a $2.50 ice cream bar, bringing my total for the day to $72.50. That's okay, right? I don't have to come in under $35 (or come in under $245 for the entire 7 days)?

I know it's a silly question, but if I get the right answer, it'll be easier to talk DBF into doing this!

If your meal at LeCellier came to $60 just for you, that is okay! You are allowed an appetizer, entree, non-alc. drink, and dessert. That is the great part of the plan. You do not have to worry about the money. You can order the $27 steak and the $12 dessert. As a matter of fact, they do not even let you take a receipt (from what I have read) that has a breakdown of the prices. And.....most servers are trying to show you how to make the meal cost more because their tip comes from the bottom line! (and you do not have to pay extra for the tip---unless you want to)

Great thread...I think this topic will become even more popular since alot of people are booking packages with the new free dining. (like me!) I have been looking over the menu's all day changing my ps's over & over.

We will be eating breakfast at Pop Century most mornings. How will the counter meal work at breakfast since most things are sold ala carte and there are no real "desserts"? Do you know if you could get a "main dish" with a side dish (such as French Toast with Bacon or an Omelet with Potatoes) for your "entree" and then get a sweet item such as a cinnamon roll for your "dessert"? I am an over-planner and am trying to plan our every meal.

yes I think that is how I have seen other people do breakfast at cs under the dining plan. You can get say eggs, bacon & a bagel & then get a roll, danish, fruit for the dessert.

I know that Mama Melrose's is an included restaurant - does anyone know if you can get the Fantasmic Package using your credits?

Also, a side note, does anyone know which restaurant has the chocolate slipper sitting on angel food cake? I saw a picture of it somewhere and I must have it!!

Is LeCellier a "signature" restraurant? I saw on one site that is was, then I checked another and it says it isn't? Is there a list that tells me which places are signature? I sort of remember most of them.

In the guide I printed a few days ago from the Disney website, Le Cellier is NOT a signature restaurant. Only 1 credit needed!

Le Cellier is no longer a signature. It was until May 1st when it went to a one credit place.

Counter service for breakfast -non platter main course (pancakes say), side dish (sausage) and drink (soda, oj, milk, juice box, or choc milk) and dessert (quick bread, danish, bagel, fresh fruit cup, yogurt - in some places- cookie, rice crispy treat, piece of fruit)

So, for counter service you get a main dish and side, sometimes this means all together like we did the platter that had the scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, biscuit, sausage, french toast piece and bacon. Sometimes it's a main item and a side item like we did one breakfast the kid's pancakes with sausage on the side.

The official word from disney dining is that the Fantasmic Dinner Package is not covered by the dining plan....but....there are many reports of the restaruant letting people use it. So I would plan to pay for the meal, but if they cover it, that is extra pixie dust.

The chocolate slipper on cake is at Cinderella's Royal Table. You can get it at dinner.

The white chocolate slipper on angel food cake is at CRT for dinner. The price is $10. I had this in May and it was very good and the presentation was even better.

I wonder if they will be more "strict" with the rules (only certain snacks, no Fantasmic package) during the free dining plan period 8/21-10/4??? I would hope not, I'm sure for a lot of people they will love it so much they won't be able to go back without it! Maybe they won't risk hurting future business. I already love it and I haven't even used it yet!! For me, the ultimate over-planner, I am having a great time planning all my meals and the anticipation is even higher.

For the last poster, I have read on this thread several times that they will give you a list of participating restaurants when you check in. You can also print the list from the Disneyworld website under the dining tab.
