Fantasy Western April 28, 2012

Formal night is Sunday, Pirate night is Wednesday, Semi-Formal night is Thursday.

I'm surprised Disney can't get their website user-friendly and crash-free. They do everything else so well...

So that's why Michael woke up this morning cursing the Disney website.. He blamed over sleeping and missing 6am spin class on the "stupid" website. Everytime he has to log in, I have to hear him complain about it for a week.

Fish Extender
If anyone would like to participate in the Fish Extender Exchange, I am organizing it! If you are new, please send me:

1. Name, age, gender of all in your cabin.
2. Stateroom number
3. Home e-mail address so I can send you the file for easy printing at home.

The cutoff date to sign up will be March 31st. I will repost this several times to try to catch everyone that may not read the entire board.

I will compose a list for everyone and distribute that list shortly after we reach the deadline. I have a list going, so if you have signed up for FE and have not received an e-mail from me, please send me your home e-mail address! This list will be updated often and I am sending out the list every so often so people can organize their gifts.

Xcaret is a very fun place. I've been to it's sister property Xel-Ha (they are very similar) and would recommend it EXCEPT for the long travel time. We went when we were staying in Playa del Carmen. If that's what you want to do, then it's a fun choice but if you'd rather not spend half your time on a bus/ferry, then I'd suggest an island excursion.

Based on your thoughts and my thoughts and really checking it out I have decided to go for a island excursion. My concern was not that we wouldn't enjoy it but that we would feel too rushed to really enjoy it and it seems key that you have enough time for it. Instead I booked the Off Road adventure to the Jade Caverns......which is supposed to be messy but fun....tried to give my kid some choice and he wouldn't choose he did say it is probably only fun for the driver but other people seemed to indicate it was fun no matter what.....

Thanks a lot I'm sure we will be happier and dirtier now :cool1:

How easy/hard is it to get off the boat on port adventures? I have heard it's a pain, especially at tenders (Grand Cayman?).

Any advice?

Port Adventure debarking is a bit different than debarking on your own...but not necessarily more of a pain. You meet as a group at a location specified on your tickets. Once they have checked everybody in, you leave the ship as a group and head to whatever method of conveyance you're using. At Grand Cayman, it's actually a bit easier to tender-initially-if you are with an excursion because you don't have to wait for a "tender ticket". Your excursion ticket is your tender ticket (off the boat). Those NOT on excursions at Grand Cayman have to wait until a certain time to arrive and wait in line for their tender tickets.

I just released my Remy for 2 table at 6pm on May 1st if anyone wants to snag it.

For Valentine's Day, I got the GoPro Hero HD video camera. I am so excited to film our aquaduck rides, scuba diving and parasailing!

Does anyone own one or used one before?

Just picked up an in-expensive waterproof camera that will shoot some video....can't get a good one since we already have a high end camera and decent video camera but I do intend on trying it out in the aquaduck and other wet spots
:woohoo:

I'm kinda in the same boat with the cameras. I had a Olympus point and shoot that's waterproof to 10' that takes video which is great for pool and snorkel use but not diving and I bought a nice Sony HD handycam last year to take on our Mediterranean cruise. Then for Christmas I got a Nikon DSLR. I really wanted a camera to take diving but the cases for the SLR are in the thousands and a new sea life camera is a couple hundred dollars. I am hoping the GoPro will last down to the 180' that it is rated to and will end up being a cheaper fix. Looks like I will be carrying around 2 cameras and 2 video cameras....

Hello everyone! I booked the cruise a year ago and just found your thread. I will be cruising with my DH (Kirk), DD (Sammy) girl, age 7 and myself, DW (Tracy). We are from Denver, Colorado and this will be our first cruise.
A friend of mine told me to try to find the FE exchange. I have been trying to get a note to Cruisevirgin, but can't figure out how? It said I didn't have enough post to send a message. So, Cruisevirgin count us in!
I am also interested in the "seeing other rooms and showing off our room". I will be on deck 5 with an oversize balcony, family room.
Can't wait to meet you all. :yay:

we too did our shore excursions last night, after flying home from Vegas and being up for ungodly hours.....

Bascially if anyone has a Cabannas booked and is going to give it up, we are looking for one, or we would consider splitting the cost. We are a family of three, myself, husband and 5 year old daughter.

If you do get lucky and someone gives it up, I would love to split the cost with you and share. I am also a family of three, myself, husband and 7 year old daughter. I am sure the girls would have fun playing together. I really just want a home base to put my stuff. I expect I will be snorkeling with my DD & DH most of the time.

:welcome: Squeaky1 and family!

I saw that you also signed up on our cruiser list on our cruise website. I reorganize it by stateroom number, so I moved you up the list to the first spot of those who said "Yes" for the FE (12th position on the list). :thanks:

After you have 10 posts you should be able to directly PM cruisevirgin.

Hi Taswira!
Thank you for the warm welcome. :thumbsup2

I was trying to catch up on the thread to all that has been going on..:laundy:
Still not there yet...lol

I have some questions about how the FE works. Do we each get assigned a room to, "buy for" and leave them a gift everyday? Or do we buy gifts for each person on the list (1 or 2) items? Is there a certain day that we leave the gifts? :confused3

Sorry for all the questions. I can't wait to play and want to start getting things now.

cruisevirgin will need to answer all that, as to how this one is being organized.

Unfortunately, the FE is something I know virtually nothing about, as I do not participate. I don't think cruisevirgin is on the boards too often, but hopefully will be checking in again soon. :)

I too am trying to figure out all the FE - I tried to message the organizer, but I am new to the boards and don't believe I have this priviledge yet so very confused on how this all works, etc.....any help you can give would be appreciated. My direct email is sduenkel@twcny.rr.com:confused3

Welcome! And never apologize for questions here. That's what the boards are for - helping you have the best cruise ever!

As far as the FE goes, you give a gift to each cabin on the list. It is entirely up to you as far as what you give. It can be one gift per cabin (we gave a personalized photo album with some candy for the kids on our first cruise), or some people give items to each person in the room. Check out the homemade FE gifts thread. I find it easier to get to if I google "homemade FE gift" rather than search disboards for it. Keep it simple and don't get overwhelmed by some of the time consuming gifts that people make. There are some AMAZING gifts that are given as well as candy, dollar items, pencils, pens, etc. It's all in fun!!!

We have never had any issues getting on or off our Disney cruise either with or without tender. I would hope that it will go just as smoothly on the Fantasy even though it is much larger!

I guess we'll all know very soon. Can't wait!
