Fantasy Vibration Issues Fixed?

We were in 9648 in March and it was exactly the same. We could sleep through it, but it really irritated my wife at times. Particularly when just trying to sit in bed before sleeping. It was pretty strong. It reminded me of driving on a washed out dirt road at times and was even distracting when eating in the aft. But it wasn't consistent. I would avoid an aft room if possible in the future, but wouldn't let it prevent me from cruising on the Fantasy if that was my only option.

This is good to know. I have 9664 on my upcoming trip on the Fantasy (3rd voyage, first on this ship). Vibrations don't really bother me (i like to pretend it's a free massage😅). But the inconsistency may be a little off putting. Still, if I can sleep on a moving train, I think it'll be fine. Maybe I should look at forward/midship rooms on my 4th trip.

:-) I think it comes down to personality. Some people can just ignore irritants like a vibrating room, others can't help but fixate on them. It sounds like it won't be an issue for you. I would have been totally fine with it, except that when something is bothering my wife, I start noticing it more too. It was only bad at certain times and was never strong enough to wake either of us up.

Hi Lilias,
We are cruising in cabin 8674 for a 7 night Western Caribbean and wondered if you did cruise in that cabin ( you mentioned tentatively). I was curious if you felt the vibrations and also curious about the inside cabins if their doors were across from this cabin or down a separate hallway.
any info would be greatly appreciated…Tim
Sorry for the late response!!

Yes, we ended up staying in that room (fantasy 8674) and everything was fine until we reached our first port. After that, they turned the thrusters on every time we went out to sea and it was awful. :( By taking all of the hangers down and removing all loose things that could rattle around the room, I could at least sleep.

But there was absolutely no sleeping through arriving at ports, the shaking was so bad. I basically had to go to bed at 9 pm every night because I knew I'd wake up around 5 the next morning from the noise.

I will never stay aft in the fantasy again! It's not worth the risk, don't be like me!

We’re currently on the Fantasy with a deck 5 aft cabin. I have experienced nothing different than any of the other four Disney ships in terms of vibrations/noise. There is vibration when docking, but I have experienced that on all five ships. Either the issue has been fixed or we’re in a good spot where it isn’t an issue.

Thanks Minnesota. We have been on several different Disney Ships also and have not noticed anything out of the ordinary and the vibrations never bothered us when we did notice them. I think a lot of it might be the individual. We each have our own senses and what bothers us. Some are light sleepers and some are not. Some people like quiet and some dont mind background noises.
hope you continue to have a safe & wonderful cruise.

I am a very light sleeper, it's true! My husband slept through the morning port arrivals fine every day except two (we were on an 8 night). It was nice for him to realize I wasn't just crazy! :P

My sure fire and simple solution is to not select a cabin past midship on the Dream or Fantasy, problem solved. And if Disney doesn’t have any, surely some other cruise line will.
