This morning was another lazy one. I was awake at just after 7:00 and lay in bed playing on my iPad before getting up around 8:30.

We were out just before 9:00 and first stop was the petrol station by the Boardwalk to fill the car up. From there we went to Downtown Disney arriving just as the shops opened at 9:30.

We went into World of Disney and picked up a few bits.

Then we went over to the pin shop and got a few pins. Next stop was Bass Pro and Sheplers at Festival Bay Mall but we didn't buy anything there. This mall is looking emptier than ever and even the Universal shop looks as though it is about to close so surely it can't be long before the whole mall shuts down.

From there we went to Florida Mall and stopped off in the food court where I had a tuna salad sandwich and Dad had a beef and cheddar sandwich. Next up was the Yankee Candle shop where they were doing tarts for $1 each and we ended up buying 15.

We had a quick look around the Disney and Apple shops before coming away and driving over to Wal-Mart on Turkey Lake Road where we bought a suitcase to put our framed steel piece in - it worked out cheaper than shipping it home and there was no other way of getting it on the plane.

From there we went back to the room, arriving around 2:30 for a couple of hours break before going out to Magic Kingdom this evening.

We went back out at about 4:30 and drove over to the TTC where we got the resort monorail round to the Contemporary Resort. This was the first hotel we ever stayed at in Disney so I always like to go back the when we go to the Magic Kingdom. I always find it seems to have it’s own particular smell as well, or maybe that's just me.

We had a quick look around the shops before wandering over to the Magic Kingdom, spotting one of the new bendy buses at the bus station.

We had a quick look in the shops on both sides of Main Street then at around 6:00 we checked in at Tony's Town Square Restaurant for our 6:10 ADR and we were seated within a few minutes.

Dad started with the Caesar salad followed by lasagne and I had zucchini fries followed by spaghetti with Italian sausage. It was a nice meal but it was the first time that I can remember that our main courses came out before our empty starter plates had been cleared away. I don't mind fast service like that but I can see where a lot of people would feel rushed.

After eating we strolled round to Jungle Cruise to get fast passes, and then walked through to Haunted Mansion, which was showing a 30 minute wait time so we carried on round to Fantasyland. As expected all of the rides there were busy so we wandered round to Storybook Circus where I took a few photos.

From there we went round and rode the WEDWay People Mover and then went and sat on the Tomorrowland Bridge for a while. At 7:45 our Jungle Cruise fast pass window opened so we went and rode that, then walked round and rode Haunted Mansion. We couldn't find a decent spot for the 9:00 parade so we went and rode Pirates of the Caribbean, which would have been a walk on but they were having technical problems so we had to wait 5 minutes or so for those to be sorted.

After Pirates we strolled round to the hub and caught the end of the parade from outside Casey's Corner then moved round into the hub itself for Magic, Memories and You, followed by Wishes.

After Wishes we stood on one side waiting for all the crowds to go and after 10 minutes the hub still looked like this.

Shortly after that the flow of people stopped so we made our way slowly down Main Street, out of the park and on to the ferry. We had to wait for about 3 trams to fill before we could get on one and so it was about an hour after Wishes had finished that we finally got on. I know it would have been easier to get a bus from AKL but we don't normally have that much trouble and I much prefer driving anyway.

We were in bed just before midnight with plans to go to Hollywood Studios tomorrow.

Day 13

Lovely day David. Magic Kingdom looked like it was rammed. We have always found that it gets really busy during evening EMH at MK but this looks particularly busy.

I think the problem was that it was Easter Monday - and I know you're not really supposed to go to MK on a Monday anyway. We've never known it to be that busy though, other than the day of the 40th anniversary.

Yes, I forgot it was Easter weekend. Well, it's hardly surprising then. In fact, it perhaps seems too quiet ;)

Looks a busy evening at MK David :scared1::crowded:

Love your "Dole Whip T-Shirt" ::yes::

lovely day.
I agree, about the CR-it does have a fab 'smell'
It smells like home to us, every time we are there :)

Fab day, love the dole tshirt :) your photos of wishes are amazing

Thanks Andrea. I take about 20 REALLY badly blurred fireworks photos for every 1 good one though. :rotfl2:

I like your Mickey Mouse shirt :) and the wedding Mickey and Minnie (which I gather is for your friend? If so, I bet she'll be over the moon. I brought a Mickey and Minnie wedding photo frame back as a wedding gift for a friend who likes Disney but is unlikely to ever go and she was delighted with it).

Great day, esp as you didn't lose anything!! ;)

Great day David, love the firework photos, they are brilliant:goodvibes

Yeah when you say it's Easter Monday it feels to me like it could have been busier.

I love that Mickey shirt and I would love my DH to have it but he doesn't like the writing on the back, I, however, love it!!

One of these days I really must just watch Wishes rather than through a camera lense but I am obsessed at taking the best Firework photo I can! You took some perfect shots!
