Fantasy stateroom 5656-sleeping question 4e

We have this stateroom reserved in July. I've read a lot about this category 4e with extended balcony. I'm told it has a Murphy bed not the upper birth? Does this mean it's like a bunk bed? Or pulls down to floor? When I look at pictures I'm not sure where there is room to pull down a Murphy bed due to room space taken for extended balcony. I'm so confused. My kids do not like bunk beds but our travel agent says it Murphy.

Our 4E didn't have a Murphy bed, but we weren't in the same stateroom you will be. There's a 5656 Dream video tour on YouTube, but configuration may have changed for the Fantasy. It *is* a rare non-connecting room, and that might contribute to a different layout, but I doubt it.

4Es aren't going to have room for a Murphy bed. They sleep 3 or 4 and are the same size as all the non-family verandah rooms (5s and 6s). If they don't have a bunk, they will just have the couch that folds down.

I clarified with my travel agent and she responded with this exact words. "Your stateroom only sleeps 4 so it has the Murphy bed but not the upper birth which is a bit different from Murphy bed"

I saw this on line. It looks to have the biggest no type room.

I have stayed in different 4e rooms on both the Dream and Fantasy, there would be no room for a Murphy bed. I believe the room looks exactly like the video of the same room on the Dream.

That is what I thought.

I know it can be confusing. It was for me when we were upgraded to a 4e and we assumed it would be a larger room. It says it's a family stateroom, which would have room for a Murphy bed, but it's not. The Murphy beds are at the end of the room in front of the verandah in the 4A-D rooms. There's nowhere to put it in a 4E because the room doesn't have that extra space in front of the verandah. Your TA is probably confusing the couch bed with the Murphy bed. If you look at a deck plan, you'll see there is nowhere to put the Murphy. Just assume if your room sleeps 4 that it will definitely have the pull-down bunk. (I apologize if I misread your original post. I thought you meant your room slept 3.) You can also call DCL and ask for the room configuration to put your mind at ease :)

Would 4A-D have Murphy bed? But less balcony right? That is trade off? I would really like 2 separate sleeping areas for my children that didn't involve the bunk like beds. Does this exist? Thank you

I stayed in room 5656 last May on the Fantasy. There is the main bed, the bed that folds into the ceiling and the couch that turns into a sleeper bed for 1 person. It fits 4 people - my wife, my 2 daughters and me.

The staterooms with the Murphy beds are 4a-4d however you have to make sure they sleep 5. You would have a bigger room, but standard balcony.

If you think that verandah is large...this is 5052 on the Fantasy...WOW!

Do you think this would fit a 12 year old boy who would be about 5'2"?

Murphy beds, sofa beds, and bunk beds are all the same size - "regular" twin size. My, then, 5'8" sons (both of them) fit in the bed fine (different cruises).

This is good to know. So it's all matter if he can deal with "bunk" vs Murphy.

This is the layout of a room with sleeping for 5 (4A category) (for anyone interested):

And this is a 4A that only sleeps 4 (no Murphy bed):
