So I am trying not to think about it, because I have a long wait before I can actually go on my next WdW vacation, but here I am...thinking about it.

I really loooooved staying at the CR on our last trip. I feel like I left part of my heart there. But I really do want to experience some other resorts. I have four resorts I am thinking about for our next trip but I can only choose two of them. Right now we are planning on 11 days. I like the idea of staying in a Royal Room at POR, Coronado springs resort, a Savannah room at Animal Kingdom or maybe even a Lagoon room at the Grand Floridian.

What has been your favorite split stay? What is your dream split stay?

Oh nice. Our only true split stay has been AKL Jambo house and Wilderness lodge. It was nice but my dream split stay would have to be Yacht Club water view and Polynesian theme park view.

fun!

we’ve done a few split stays. my favorite (and most ambitious!) split stay was AKL/GF/BC. We were always really close to a park, and there were always new things to see at/around our resort. I actually think it’s also my “dream” split stay, although in my dream world I might flip the order to AKL/BC/GF.

If I’m thinking about split stays I haven’t done before, I think Poly/YC would be a fun balance of themes.

My favorite split is BC (or YC) and Poly.

We are planning a 12-night trip next summer to celebrate my 40th birthday and I’d love to do the above split again, but with the price increases, I don’t see that happening. I’m thinking next year will either be a WL/BC split or POR/WL split. We’d also love to stay at the new Riviera resort, even if it’s just for a night. I’m going to look into renting points to see if it’s doable.

My favorite split stays have been Beach/Yacht Club for 3/4 nights and AKL for 3/4 nights. My dream split stay would be the same with a couple of nights at the Grand Floridian in between.
Do you think three would be too many? Three would be good.

I'm afraid to rent points, have you done it before.

I would also love to stay at the Riviera!

Yes, I’ve rented twice and both times it was flawless. I’d definitely rent again. The only thing with staying DVC, is your room is only serviced every fourth day I believe, and we like our room serviced every day. The other thing is, for it to be affordable, we can only stay in a studio. Now that my boys are getting older and bigger, they prefer an actual bed to a pullout sofa. All that to say, we really want to give Riviera a try, so my boys can manage in the pull down bed for a night or two.

It's easy-I used a broker for peace of mind. Rented a studio at Saratoga Springs. Really like the resort.

Have done lots of split stays.
Dream would be GF or CR or Wilderness Lodge with BC/YC. Although I think my favorite resort so far is AKL...mmm this is hard!

My dream split would be POR Royal Room followed by GF CL. It would be like two different princess trips in one. My second choice split would be YC and CR theme park view.

How many days did you give yourself for your 3 way split stay?

the trip was 12 days/11 nights total. i think our breakdown was 4 nights at AKL/4 nights at GF/3 nights at BC?

i wouldn’t do 3 hotels on a shorter trip. i think it’s nice to have a couple days to settle in and enjoy each resort!

I could do that. I could do 12 nights and make them all even steven. Ohhhh

I don't know why, I am sure some folks would rather die than move around that much, but it just seems like a Disney thing I would like to experience.

For a fantasy split I’m going to say CR CL TPV/GF CL RPC. Mostly because we really enjoy club level and will pick it if it’s a good value with a discount, but those particular resort room categories I can’t ever see myself justifying cost-wise—but that doesn’t stop me from fantasizing (lol). We have done Poly villas standard studio/BWI CL (LOVED IT) and have two more future splits scheduled: AKL CL/Poly std/WL nature vw (CRAZY, I know) and BC std/YC CL std.

i think split stays can be so fun!

though i also don’t do them every visit. i especially like trying different resorts, and there are only a couple we’ve tried more than once. the resorts are just such a part of disney to me and my family.

I think we decided an to stay an extra night so we can have four of each, POR, CSR (not sure what type of room) and four at the GF! I couldn't justify spending a week+ at the GF alone, but I could swing four nights. I am really excited that they changed the split stay rules back. Hopefully when we do finally go to do this, everything will work out as planned with our fast passes and dining reservations.

We're doing our "dream stay" this trip -- Yacht Club Water View Club Level for 4 nights followed by Poly Club Level Theme Park View for 5 nights. We're just so excited -- although not having ever stayed at YC, we're cautiously excited on that part of the split.

What has been your favorite split stay? What is your dream split stay?

My favorite (and only) actual split stay so far:
link ~ POR - off site - AKL

Dream split stay #1:
3 nights at Poly for the "MK portion of the trip"
4 nights at an Epcot area resort (need to research) for the "Epcot/HS portion of the trip"
3 nights at AKL for "the AK and relaxing" portion of the trip.

Dream Split Stay #2:
4 nights at Art of Animation (suite)
4 nights at WL (club level)
(2 park days, 1 rest day, 2 park days, 1 rest day, 1 park day)
