Fantasy June 29, 2013 Meet Up!

Julie,

There are some details on the DCL website, but not a ton. I think we'll start seeing more detailed information once the press cruises start in the next few weeks. :)

I think I am going to need some of that flavored rum. We bought Vanilla in Nassau last year and that bottle didn't last long.

In case anyone hasn't joined - the FB group is
:surfweb:

Ooooooh, sounds like we need to go rum tasting in one of the ports! :rotfl:

Sounds good to me!

We actually did a Rum Tasting on the Magic on our EBTA last year - 4 shots of rum, plus a rum runner. I ended up having to get a coke to mix my rum with, but by the time the hour was over, I could barely walk to the other side of Sessions, much less back to my room! :rotfl: It was certainly worth the $15 - we learned a lot about different rums and how rum is made in different places.

None of the rums were flavored, though - just different types from different places. I'd love to try some different flavored rums - we've had Vanilla and Pomegranate here, but without knowing what I'd like, I hate spending the money for a whole bottle.

You may have learned something from it....but I finished your rum and mine and I don't remember a thing ;)

Lol, sounds like a plan then! :rotfl:

We had found a bar in Freeport that had $1 shots of flavored rum, I am betting there are similar places in most ports. The shot wasn't as big as a full sized shot, but for $1 you got your money's worth and we got to taste all kinds of rum.

We then walked (or stumbled) down the way a bit to a store that sold the same brand and stocked up on the flavors we liked. We were on Carnival so we didn't get it back until the last night, or else I probably wouldn't have any left now.

In hindsight I wish I had gotten some vanilla too, but I think I can probably find that somewhere local. A friend of mine owns a liquor store, so maybe I can get them to order me some if it's not in their shop.

No, are you going to keep us guessing? Based on the post after yours I'll go with they are not providing them anymore?

The word is that they are no longer on ANY cruises :( I am very sad about that, we didn't really love the food on board so we always looked forward to the Mickey Bars

:sad1: That's so sad...but they do have a lot of other good stuff. Let's hope they don't get rid of the ice cream self serve....my hubby and kids' lived there!

I still have my finger's crossed that they will be back. Two people reported back that it is temporary (one indicated a supplier issue and the other just said they would be back in April). I will let you know for sure what happens when I am on the Wonder in April (we love our Mickey Bars).

I have two theories on this one.

1) There is no shortage (since it hasn't been noted at the parks). They decided to cut costs by replacing the mickey bar with the sandwich. But people complained too much so they are using up the sandwiches they ordered and then going back to the regular Mickey Bar.

2) There really is a shortage but the parks are getting all the supplies they have because people pay big bucks for them there (and they really will be back on the ships when the supplies are back to normal).

I refuse to entertain the thought that there will be no more Mickey Bars at all :rotfl2:

I hope you're right, if not I say we all start a letter writing campaign and get them reinstated as a dessert on board!

Hey, everyone!
I hesitated to pop in here because we're not officially booked yet. We've decided that this is the cruise we're going to do, and if it were up to me, we would already be booked. BUT...

We're waiting on an ADOPTION to go through!!! :cool1::woohoo::dance3::yay: It's been a long, gruelling, 3-year battle (we've had her since she was 19 months old, and she's now almost 5!!), and we're FINALLY in the home stretch! If all documentation goes through as expected, we'll be official in about 10-12 weeks! Then we can book our celebration cruise! :woohoo::cheer2::woohoo: It's gonna be the party to end all parties! :yay::cool1::dance3::cheer2:

So anyway, not officially part of the meet group YET, but here are our plans:

ChrizJen
# of Adults & names: 2: Me and Partner
# Kids & names/ages: 1 child, DD (will be 6 when we cruise!)
Stateroom: Standard Inside, not too picky! LOL
What DCL cruise # will this be for you? 3
Do you want to participate in the FE? Not this time...We'll be too busy having the celebration of a LIFETIME!

We're hoping to do a week at WDW before the cruise too...
Anyway, look forward to getting to know everyone, and I'll let you know once we're "official" !!! ;)

:welcome::welcome::welcome:
Welcome! I hope the final stages of your adoption go smoothly, can't wait to meet y'all on the Fantasy!

Well, I think we MAY have our WDW vacation plans finally set. We had booked at ASM, but now we're going to be a CBR with a Pirate room! Our DS3 is VERY into pirates following our cruise last year. He is going to be so excited to get to sleep in a pirate ship bed!

The cruise is over a year away, so I am hoping the pirate thing lasts until then :)

We just booked our cruise last week through AAA. We have our confirmation that we'll be in stateroom 10158.

This is not only our first Disney cruise but our first cruise ever. We're both excited and a little apprehensive. We're taking this cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

It'll be neat to be on the cruise for our anniversary and also for Independence Day. According to the itinerary, we'll be "at sea" that day. I hope they'll set off fireworks that night. It would be something to see them over the ocean. It's also the 2nd Formal Night too.

Now we just have to wait 15 months....lol
