We go to the Lifetime in Flower Mound, I love it! My daughter is getting a little too old for the child care area, so this summer has been a lot of bribery with the pool and/or slushees. Which one do ya'll use?

Sounds like everyone is needing some relief. It was 100 when I dropped my son off for football practice at 5:00, but with our humidity here in Chattanooga the heat index was 114

We had an awful hail storm come through about 6 weeks ago. EVERYONE in my neighborhood needs a new roof, several new windows, new gutters, fences re-stained, etc. All the people doing the repairs are working outside in this heat! I feel awful. The men on the roof are sitting on a black roof, doing heavy labor. I hope they are getting paid more for having to work in these conditions. Here I am inside my air conditioned house typing about my awesome cruise next year......we are all so blessed!!!! HOT, but blessed!!!

OMG - less than 300 days So exciting to watch the countdown tickers make a big change! Time is going to fly now....we have school starting in 2 wks, soccer and baseball gearing up. Before I know it, the holidays will be here

Hope everyone is doing well. Trip is still a secret to all in the household (but me, of course!)

First Day of School for us here! We leave the day after the LAST day of school, SO excited!!!!!

Hi all! School has been underway for 1 1/2 weeks and I find myself with a virus...ughhh...missing the 9th/10th day of classes isn't the best way to start the year. Hopefully, this will be it for me though,

From looking at the development of hurricane Irene she will be a big and powerful storm by the time she gets to the Castaway Cay area. Early indications look like Irene may be a cat 4 in the area of Castaway Cay. I hope the island fares well. If there is a great deal of damage the island may be closed for a while like in 1999 and in 2004 after the island sustained damage from hurricanes. Castaway Cay needs a big dose of pixie dust to get through this storm this week.

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in a really long time but just wanted to say to all those other Texas folks that we also live in North Texas and are so ready to be done with this over-100-degree heat soon!!

I also wanted to clarify (to whomever is keeping the list at the beginning of this cruise meet thread) that although I listed my DD as being 12 (which she was when I booked), she will actually be 14 at the time of cruise. So if we ever get any other 14-year-old girls on this cruise thread, I'm sure she would be glad to get to know them via email.

Anyway, I've really got to start making some payments on this cruise so we won't have to cancel - yikes! Looking forward to meeting everyone next June. It will be our 4th cruise with Disney!

Hi Everyone,

Just got back from being on the Dream 10/2/11 sailing. If anyone has any questions about the new ship ask away. We had a great time and the new ships are MUCH larger than the classic ships. The Dream is awesome----we cannot wait to sail on the Fantasy.

Couple of tips for the FE planning process:
1 - the ship is VERY long so I recommend that FE groups are split into forward group, mid ship group and aft group. We were all over for our FE group and it took over an hour to do deliveries.

2 - I would like to see the FE groups limited to 12 or so cabins for a max. We had 20 in our group on the Dream and that is too big, takes too much luggage space for the FE and takes a great deal of time to do all the deliveries.

3 - A good place for a DIS meets is deck 4 mid ship at the Vista Cafe. This is in the open atrium area, has several couch seating areas and is a public space so it is family friendly.

The Dream could be tricky to get around as some decks are not accessible from forward to aft. Sometimes you can only access areas through elevators and stairs.

Southwest has opened flights through the end of May. Bummer! I can get my flights for the outbound flight but not the return. We have vouchers so free is free but I would love to have one more part of my planning done.

I booked my reward tickets on Southwest, too, for the outbound leg. The rep I spoke with said SWA is planning to open up the next schedule segment on Nov. 14, so we can get our return flights then. Good luck!

Exciting that flights are opening up!! That means we are really getting close!

We're hoping to fly AirTran. It's a smaller airport, though, and it seems to take longer for their dates to open up.

Not that I can book until February. DH can't get leave approval until 2/15. No requests until 2/1. No exceptions, because of some union law.

It was originally booked as a “dummy cruise” but we have since decided to stick with this cruise date even though we will have to take DD out of pre-school to do it. We booked this cruise while on our first Disney cruise on the Magic (probably the 14th cruise total between Princess and Carnival). Although we had a rough start on Disney Magic, we loved the cruise and loved the kids club…DD seemed to really enjoy it and did not want to leave the club. Hopefully she will adjust to this cruise faster than she did on the Magic.

Hopefully nothing happens to prevent us from going but with the economy the way it is, jobs are so uncertain.

I have been anxiously waiting for Jetblue to release their flights for June. I was looking at the flights for April and the prices are ugly so I’m a little worried about what they will look like for June.

Are many of you arriving a day or two before the cruise? We are going to fly in the day before, hopefully, in the morning and spend time at the pool at one of the Disney resorts. My plan is to spend some time at the pool in the morning before heading to the ship. I don’t want to head to the ship too early and have to wait with a million people in the terminal like we did with the first Disney cruise.

We are very excited about the new ship. The kids club looks so cool and the new water play area for the family will be lots of fun for DD. Can’t wait!

DD Katie is a little older than yours (17) but she grew up on DCL. Her first Magic cruise was when she was 5, and she is sooooooo looking forward to the new teen area.
